August 1, 2023MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Thursday, August 3
August 1, 2023We ended up cashing one of three MLB Same Game Parlays over at PointsBet Sportsbook last Tuesday. The lone winner proved to be the St. Louis Cardinals after coming out on top of a surprising 11-7 slugfest with Zac Gallen leading the D’backs charge. We took a major hack and missed with the Rays after Zac Eflin was roughed up and hooked early, and then Kyle Bradish let an early 3-0 lead escape him which ultimately saw the Phillies go on to win by a 6-4 final count. Here’s to reeling in some green with today’s trio of baseball parlay picks – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Los Angeles Angels vs. Atlanta Braves
It’s never fun fading the money train otherwise known as the Atlanta Braves against the MLB odds, but that’s exactly what we’ll do when these teams close their series out from Truist to kick off Hump Day’s MLB betting slate. Yonny Chirinos was recently claimed off waivers by the Braves back on July 23. He made four spot starts for the Rays and made a number of appearances out of the pen. His ERA clocked in at 7.50 in July before the Rays felt he was expendable. He didn’t impress in his Atlanta debut either getting ripped for six hits and 4 ER with a K/BB ratio of 3:1 through 3.2 innings of work. He wasn’t tagged with the loss due to Atlanta giving him 10 runs of support. The Halos will send an arm they just recently picked up to the hill as well in the form of Lucas Giolito whom I think was a huge get for LA in its attempt to punch a ticket to the playoffs. Though he took the loss in his Angels debut, he’s by far the more dominant of the two starters in this matchup and deserves to be favored by oddsmakers at PointsBet to lead LA to the win. I expect a huge effort to be put forth to claim at least one game in this series.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees
A battle of AL Cy Young Award favorites will down in the Bronx Wednesday night with Shane McClanahan and Gerrit Cole set to lock horns against one another for the first time this season. They squared off once last year in “The Trop” where the Pinstripes took home the 4-2 win with neither starting pitcher procuring a decision. Cole would go on to throw 7.1 innings of 1 ER ball while McClanahan nearly matched him with six innings of 1 ER ball. They combined for 20 strikeouts! Cole is locked in right now having pitched to a 2.30 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 29 percent K rate over his last ten starts, averaging six innings per outing. The same can’t be said for the Rays lefty right now who has navigated some rough waters since coming off the IL in the middle of July. He’s allowed 16 hits and 10 ER through 15.0 innings over his last three starts, but I think it’s a matter of fine tuning than the southpaw simply just losing it. As such, I’m looking for a pitcher’s duel to play out in the finale. Both offenses have been middling of late, and yes I know Aaron Judge will be back for this pivotal matchup. Regardless, I expect runs to be held in check throughout.

Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers
Dylan Cease is far and away the better overall pitcher than Andrew Heaney, but he unfortunately plays for a team that’s voluntarily waved the white flag even though it only sits 11 games out of first in arguably the worst division of the league. Hopefully the right-hander can find his way out of the Southside by the trade deadline cuz that dude needs a change of scenery! Heaney doesn’t bring much to the table to get the juices flowing evidenced by his 7-6 record and 4.62 ERA, but the Rangers have come out on top in 11 of his 20 made starts. Though ranked ninth against LHP with an average of 5.0 runs per game, Chicago only sports a .727 OPS (No. 18) and has split its 30 overall matchups. That being said, a number of Palehose bats have gotten to him in the past, so they should keep the Texas offense on its toes. Even with Corey Seager and Jonah Heim out of the lineup, Adolis Garcia and co. will find a way to win a slugfest.
