June 13, 2023Last Wednesday’s MLB Same Game Parlays ended up 1-2 at PointsBet Sportsbook with a blister on Edward Cabrera’s pitching hand preventing us from going 2-1. The righty was well in command of the Royals but was pulled early after allowing two hits and 1 ER through five innings with Miami holding a 3-1 lead. The Dodgers and Reds ultimately played to the highest scoring game of the evening as predicted easily surpassing their team totals. It was a major swing and miss with the under between Scherzer and Morton. Here’s to reeling in some green on Hump Day’s slate – SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Minnesota Twins
I faded Colin Rea and the Brew Crew the last time the right-hander took to his home bump against Baltimore. If not for the O’s coming back against Milwaukee’s pen, he would’ve logged win No. 4 after tossing five innings of shutout ball with an unforeseen 8 K. That was an outlier performance in my book and I’ll pay up to see him do it again versus a Twins offense that just got to a fantastic Blue Jays pitching staff for 18 total runs and 29 hits (5 HR) through the weekend. The kicker for me is the consistent approach Bailey Ober has brought with him to work every fifth day. He enters start No. 10 3-3 with a 2.61 ERA allowing 6.4 hits per nine innings fresh off tossing 5.1 innings of three hit and 3 ER ball at the pesky Rays. Neither of these starting pitchers is likely to see the sixth which will put the onus on the pens. With that the case, I much prefer siding with Jhoan Duran and the Twinkies whose relievers have fared much better than that of the Brewers.

New York Yankees vs. New York Mets
Clocking in 2-3 with a 4.85 ERA and getting raked for 9.0 hits per nine innings, the folks in Flushing are getting a bit peeved at one Mr. Justin Verlander. As Aaron Rodgers once said, “Relax.” The effectiveness is still there when digging into his profile page over at Pitcher List. Things will once again start falling into place once able to register strikeouts with his 4-seamer and slider which have been hitting their spots with regularity. New York has gone down on strikes at a 23+ percent clip away from the Bronx this season, so the righty could go off in this spot. Gerrit Cole has been his most susceptible on the road (2.93 ERA) and at night (3.24 ERA), and hasn’t seen the seventh in any of his last eight starts. He’ll need to bring his “A” game to the bump for this one with the Yanks offense in tatters due to the injury bug. It was just held to seven total runs against the Red Sox No. 22 ranked starting staff and No. 13 ranked bullpen. Mets defend their turf!

Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers
It’s never fun fading the AL West leading Rangers as surprisingly dominant Bruce Bochy’s troops have been to this point of the baseball betting season, but that’s exactly what we’re going to do in the third game of this extended series with the Halos. Andrew Heaney has already matched his record of a year ago even though his ERA and FIP is each 1+ run higher. He’s been the benefactor of some exceptional run support with Texas averaging an insane 9.9 runs per game in his prior 12 starts. If ever there was a candidate for the regression monster to sink its teeth into, it’s none other than Mr. Andrew Heaney who’s serving up better than a home run per outing while serving up nearly 4.0 walks per nine. Reid Detmers has already burned my bankroll a couple times, so I’m not thrilled he’s my guy. That being said, it’s Mike Trout and co. I’m ultimately backing with LA’s offense finally healthy and raking the 4-seamer, slider, and curve per Baseball Savant.
