College Basketball Parlay Picks for Wednesday, February 15, 2023
February 14, 2023Big Apple Goes Big for Sports Betting in January
February 15, 2023Most teams only have a handful of games remaining on the docket with the college basketball regular season coming to a close. Last we checked in on the betting odds to cut the nets down in Houston, I recommended taking three positions at PointsBet Sportsbook on K-State (+3300), Indiana (+6000), and Texas (+2200). We beat the market on two of those three teams with only the Wildcats gaining more line value since – Thanks a ton K-Suck! We’ve actually done a commendable job getting the best of the number to this point evidenced by a majority of endorsements currently offering up lesser rates of return on the college basketball futures odds. They include Alabama (+1000), Creighton (+5000), Texas A&M (+20000), Purdue (+1500), TCU (+4000), Xavier (+5000), Kentucky (+5000), and St. Mary’s (+8000).
We’ve built a nice little portfolio so far, but this week I’m hunting for dogs and longshots and targeted three that just might be able to blow up some brackets should each find its way into the Dance. Here’s to hoping at least one of these lottery tickets have legs!

Miami Hurricanes +6000
Jim Larranaga’s Hurricanes were a big moneymaker for me a season ago. They won 22 regular season games before bowing out to Duke in the semifinals of the ACC tournament. The effort afforded them the No. 10 seed in the Midwest where they would go on to dispose of No. 7 USC and No. 2 Auburn in the first two rounds before trouncing Iowa State in the Sweet 16. Fortunately for me being a diehard Kansas fan, Miami would cough up a huge halftime lead to eventually fall to the Jayhawks in the Elite Eight. Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller were each on that team. Experienced guard play is a major plus in an NCAA Tournament setting, and the Canes got that in spades!
Having just rattled off five straight wins (4-1 ATS) after going into Chapel Hill and scoring a huge road win against North Carolina, Miami finds itself in a position to win the ACC regular season title with it having a win under the belt against Virginia. Even if it doesn’t, this team looks headed to the program’s highest seed in the Dance since 2016 when it was bounced by eventual champion Villanova in the region semis. Still offering 60-1 after initially hitting the board +8750, I don’t think oddsmakers are giving this team the respect it deserves. As such, I’ll throw a full unit futures bet on the Canes and suggest you do to!
Nevada Wolf Pack +20000
Currently ranked amongst the KenPom top-50 (#38) and trotting one of the most balanced teams onto the hardwood in the Mountain West save for San Diego State, I’m buying what Steve Alford’s Wolf Pack is selling with the team impressing the heck out of me in recent weeks. This is by far Alford’s best team since taking over the reins in 2019-20 when Eric Musselman decided to head to the SEC and take over the Arkansas program.
Like Miami, Nevada sports one of the best guard duos in the country in Jarod Lucas and Kenan Blackshear. Will Baker also clocks in as one of the more dependable bigs in the nation. Lucas can shoot the living daylights out of the basketball when he gets hot. Sometimes that’s all it takes for an at-large to make a huge unforeseen run, and that’s something I’ll bank on by taking a half unit dart throw on this pesky bunch!
Texas Tech Red Raiders +50000
I don’t know about you, but I came away pretty shocked about how much a struggle it was for Mark Adams’ kids to find traction earlier in the year. Even in games it looked like they would win going away, all the air would get let out of the balloon and they wouldn’t even cover. That however hasn’t been the case of late with the Red Raiders logging dubs in four of six (5-1 ATS) with the last coming in the form of a huge outright home win and cover against the hated Texas Longhorns. Prior to that, they avenged ugly losses to both Kansas State and Iowa State.
I’m well aware that this lottery ticket would need Kevin Obanor and Co. to win the Big 12 Tournament to have a shot. Their current 14-12 record isn’t worthy of being granted a bid to the dance. They got @West Virginia, @Oklahoma, TCU, @Kansas, and Oklahoma State to close the season. I think they can win a majority of those games. They’ll head to Kansas City with a head of steam looking to make a run after falling in the title game to Kansas last season should that come to fruition. I’ll pony up a quarter unit just to find out!
