October 2, 2024NFL Week 5 Parlay Recap
The red-hot run of NFL parlay winners came to a crashing halt in Week 5, as all four of the parlays lost. Not even the underdog parlay could save the week, as the Saints were outplayed by the Chiefs. We said heading into the week that losses inevitably will happen so we needed to enjoy the big Week 4. Let’s recap what happened with the NFL Week 5 parlay picks.
NFL Week 5 Favorites Parlay
We should have known that a bad week was coming after what the Bills did in the first half of this parlay. Buffalo had a chance to win their game against Houston and head coach Sean McDermott simply couldn’t think straight and the Bills lost in overtime. The other half of the parlay never really had a chance, as the Seahawks were completely outplayed by the Giants.
NFL Week 5 Underdogs Parlay
The first half of the parlay came through when the Cowboys beat the Steelers. It was not an easy win, as the Cowboys didn’t do much, but Pittsburgh’s offense was terrible. The Cowboys won the game outright to cover the spread. The other half of the parlay was frustrating, as the Saints were very much in the game against the Chiefs on Monday night but Derek Carr played poorly and New Orleans couldn’t stop the Chiefs offense.

NFL Week 5 Line Moves Parlay
The line moves parlay was frustrating, as the Bucs had plenty of chances to beat the Falcons and yet gave the game away. It is hard to win when you give up over 500 yards to the opposing quarterback, but Tampa had their chance. What makes the loss even more frustrating is that the Broncos won easily against the Raiders. Denver was in total control from start to finish and easily covered the spread against Las Vegas.
NFL Week 5 Go Against the Public Parlay
Going against the public usually works really well but this was simply a bad week all the way around. The Jets are simply not a good team right now and a few days after their loss to the Vikings, head coach Robert Saleh was fired. The other half of the parlay didn’t fare any better, as the Bengals were outplayed by the Ravens.
NFL Week 5 Parlay Picks
Catch the wave while you can, as the NFL parlay picks are on fire. We hit three of our four parlays last week and that came a week after winning with the parlay picks in Week 3. Just remember this hot streak when we go cold, as inevitably happens sometime during an NFL season. But for now, enjoy the winners. We rolled last week with the Line Moves Parlay winning, the Underdog Parlay winning and the Go-Against the Public Parlay winning. The only parlay that didn’t come through was the Favorites parlay and even on that parlay we had one winner and one loser. If we can hit just one of our four parlays each week we’ll almost break even and when we hit three out of four parlays like we did last week it is a big week because two-team NFL parlays pay out at 2.6-1. Let’s look to continue our success with NFL Week 5 parlay picks.

NFL Week 5 Favorites Parlay
Buffalo Bills -1 at Houston Texans
I know the Bills are coming off a bad loss to Baltimore but you could almost see that loss coming. I still like what I have seen from Buffalo and good teams bounce back from bad losses. I think Houston may still be a bit overrated. I’ll take the Bills in this one.
Seattle Seahawks -6 vs. New York Giants
This is another game where I am backing a team that lost last week. I like what I saw from Seattle. It was not easy to go into Detroit but they were right with the Lions until a missed penalty call late in the game. I don’t like the Giants at all, as I think they are poorly coached and Daniel Jones is not a good quarterback. I’ll take the Seahawks at home.
NFL Week 5 Underdogs Parlay
Dallas Cowboys +2.5 at Pittsburgh Steelers
One of the parlays that does well every week is normally the underdog parlay. I am shocked the Cowboys are getting points in this game. I know Pittsburgh has played better than expected, but I still don’t think they are that good. I don’t like McCarthy or the Cowboys, but I still think they are a better team than Pittsburgh and we are getting points.
New Orleans Saints +5.5 at Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are winning despite all of their injuries but the dam is about to burst. Losing Rice is a huge blow and this team doesn’t have enough depth to keep losing players. New Orleans is a better team than expected and I think they can hang with the Chiefs and maybe win this game outright.
NFL Week 5 Line Moves Parlay
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1.5 at Atlanta Falcons
The public is all over the Bucs in their game against the Falcons. This line opened with Atlanta a 2.5-point favorite and the number is down to 1.5. I don’t have a strong opinion, as this is simply following the line move.
Denver Broncos -3 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
The other line move is on the Broncos who opened a 1.5-point favorite against the Raiders and that number is up to three. I think this is an overreaction, but line move plays are not based on opinion, so we go with the Broncos minus the points.
NFL Week 5 Go Against the Public Parlay
New York Jets +2.5 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The public is in love with the unbeaten Vikings in this London game against the Jets. This could be an overreaction, as the Jets are still a good team and although Minnesota is playing great right now, they could be overrated. We take the Jets plus the points in this one.
Cincinnati Bengals +2.5 vs. Baltimore Ravens
The public loves what they saw last and that was the Ravens rolling over the Bills. The Bengals also got a win last week and they are at home. The public is on the Ravens so we take the Bengals plus the points.Bet Week 5 NFL Games at BetMGM.
