Sony Open in Hawaii Odds and Picks
January 7, 2025UCLA vs. Maryland College Basketball Same Game Parlay – Jan 10
January 8, 2025It was a successful regular season with the NFL parlay picks and now it is time for NFL Playoff parlay picks. In most weeks we went either 2-2 or 1-3 with the four two-team parlays in the regular season. We did have one week where we went 3-1 and another where we went 0-4 so those pretty much cancelled each other out. The strategy of going with four two-team NFL parlays was a decent one for the regular season. We don’t have as many games to choose from in the NFL Playoffs so we will have to change our strategy for Wild Card Weekend Parlay Picks. We’ll narrow our focus to just two parlays, the underdog parlay and the favorites parlay, but we’ll look to include go-against the public and line move plays in our two parlays when warranted. Let’s look at NFL Wild Card Weekend parlay picks.

Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money.
NFL Wild Card Weekend Favorites Parlay
Buffalo Bills -9 vs. Denver Broncos
Baltimore Ravens -10 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The favorites parlay has done far better than I expected this season. When it comes to NFL favorites they usually don’t do well against the spread, but 2024 was an exception to the rule. In fact, favorites covered the spread 54.2% of the time which meant if you bet every single favorite this season you would have actually made money. That almost never happens in the NFL. Wild Card Weekend usually is where the favorites do well and in this parlay I am taking the two power teams. The Bills and Ravens are the two teams that could challenge the Chiefs in the AFC.
I know that Denver looked really good last week but there is a huge difference between playing at home against the Kansas City backups and going on the road to face Josh Allen and the Bills. I expect Buffalo to eventually pull away and win this game by double-digits. In the other game I don’t know how you can make any case for taking Pittsburgh. That is the only reason that gives me pause because the game looks too easy. The Steelers have been putrid lately with a leaky defense and a quarterback in Russell Wilson who has been terrible. The Ravens have Lamar Jackson and the better defense. They should roll so I’ll take the Ravens even though I do so with a little trepidation because it looks so obvious.
NFL Wild Card Weekend Underdogs Parlay
Houston Texans +3 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Rams +1.5 vs. Minnesota Vikings
The NFL Wild Card Weekend underdog parlay just so happens to combine two plays that were part of the regular season parlays. The one go-against the public play this week would be taking the Texans. The public is all over the Chargers in their game at Houston. It seems everyone thinks Los Angeles is just going to go into Houston and beat a Texans team that is well coached and has a good quarterback in C.J. Stroud. I’ll go against the public and take the Texans plus the points at home.
In the second half of the parlay, we have the one line move of note. The Vikings opened up as 2.5-point road favorites and the number is down to 1.5. Minnesota was exposed last week by Detroit and if the Rams are smart, they will do just what Detroit did and pressure Sam Darnold into making mistakes. Sean McVay is a good coach and Los Angeles has already beaten Minnesota this season. We’ll follow the line move and take the Rams as the second half of the underdog parlay.Bet NFL Wild Card Weekend games at BetMGM.
