XFL Betting – Week 6 Parlay Picks
March 22, 2023NBA Picks for Thursday, March 23, 2023
March 22, 2023If you picked opposite what I did last week you would’ve had a three-team winner on a National Hockey League parlay card. Yep, I came up with the big ohfer but I still have a winning overall record over the last several weeks so I’ve got that going for me. The unpredictable nature of sports betting reared its ugly head, though it won’t deter me from attempting to win a parlay. There’s a reason why sportsbooks offer attractive odds on parlays and that’s because they’re tough to win. Just when you think you have it figured out, you don’t. But I digress.
Now to the important stuff and that’s the 12-game slate on the NHL schedule for Thursday, March 23. Time is running out on teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals to keep their postseason streaks alive. The field of eight in the Western Conference is settling down, but we have no idea where the teams will rank. The Dallas Stars enter the week with a one point lead over Colorado and Minnesota in the Central Division while Vegas and Los Angeles are tied atop the Pacific. I’ll attempt to decipher some NHL picks and parlays and nab a winning ticket at BetRivers sportsbook.
NHL Parlay Picks for Thursday, March 23
Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins
Betting against the Bruins has been a losing proposition as I found out last week in their matchup with Winnipeg. It’s been a historic season for Boston on pace to match the NHL record for wins while also trying to balance ice time for aging stars in what is expected to be a long playoff run. Having already clinched a playoff spot with the President’s Trophy a mere formality, the Bruins hit the ice Thursday for an Original Six matchup with the Montreal Canadiens. These teams just don’t like each other in a feisty series that dates back decades. Boston started a recent road trip with back to back losses to Detroit and Chicago before finishing with a flurry showing why they’re the best team in the league. They outscored Winnipeg, Minnesota and Buffalo by a combined 15-2. The Bs are massive favorites on the moneyline making them a worthwhile NHL pick against the spread. They covered the 1.5 goal spread in a 4-2 victory over the Habs in late January.
NHL Parlay Pick: Bruins PL
New York Rangers at Carolina Hurricanes
They trail Carolina in the Metro standings, but the Rangers have had plenty of success against the Canes dating back to last season’s spirited playoff series winning four straight games while notching at least five goals and cashing the OVER in every one. And New York is riding a hot streak with back to back shutouts of Pittsburgh and Nashville giving them a 6-0-1 mark in their last seven games. At home, though, the Canes have been solid with only eight regulation losses in 34 games, and with the teams so evenly matched it’s hard to imagine the Blueshirts continuing their dominance. Carolina is stingy defensively allowing the fewest shots on goal and the second fewest goals per game. They also boast one of the best penalty killing units in the NHL. The Canes also overcame a stretch where they scored once in three games by following with 12 tallies in their next three. Carolina can shrink the ice negating New York’s playmakers leading to a low scoring victory for the home team.
NHL Parlay Pick: Hurricanes ML / UNDER
Pittsburgh Penguins at Dallas Stars
It could be the end of an era with the Penguins in danger of missing the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since 2006. They certainly are not playing like a club that wants to see the streak continue. A 2-1 loss to Ottawa on Monday was Pittsburgh’s fourth in a row with only three goals scored over the last three games of that stretch. That’s nearly unheard of from a club featuring stars like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. The reality is that the core is getting older and Father Time is undefeated. We will see if the Pens have a late season push in them starting with this matchup against the Central leading Stars. Boasting a top 10 offense and a power play that clicks at 24 percent, the Stars have covered the spread in nearly 56 percent of their games. And keeping the puck out of their net has been a problem for the Pens, which has me confidently backing Dallas as a top NHL pick.
NHL Parlay Pick: Stars ML
