If you take the overtime-aided 102 points scored at Wake Forest out of the equation, they’ll invade Durham having scored an average of just 67.3 points in their last three games. Because of the inability to tickle the twine – or hold onto leads – RJ Davis and his mates have seen the under pay out in eight of their last nine games with 146.3 points scored on average.
Duke Blue Devils
Though the college basketball betting season got out to a rough start for the Dookies with losses incurred to Kansas and Kentucky, Jon Scheyer has seemingly gotten the team back on track. Since falling 75-72 to the Jayhawks in the Vegas Showdown, the Blue Devils have rattled off 14 straight wins with 10 occurring in ACC play. With that, the Dookies clock in as the lone undefeated in the conference with 11 games remaining on the docket before the ACC tournament comes around.
While Cooper Flagg has done his best to pace the offense scoring just shy of 20 points a game, it’s the defense that’s allowed for Duke to flex its collective muscle. The unit has conceded fewer than 60 points per game (#5) and held the opposition to a 37.2% success rate from the field (#5). On top of that, it ranks tenth in defensive rebounding percentage and No. 2 in two-point defense giving up next to nothing within the arc. The excelled defensive play has equated to the under cashing in 12 of 20 overall played games.
Same Game Parlay Picks
North Carolina only possesses one Quad 1 win to go along with eight defeats. While the team talent is simply much better than what the current W/L record dictates, I’m not about to pick this spot as the one where everything falls back into place. Not against a hungry Duke team looking to avenge a pair of losses from last season that’s been getting the job done at the defensive end of the court with regularity.
If off from the field, which has been the norm recently, I don’t foresee the Tar Heels coming up with many offensive caroms as dominant Flagg and 7-foot-2 behemoth Khaman Maluach have been on the defensive glass combining for 14.2 rebounds per game. If North Carolina is able to get out and run and score efficiently, they likely cover this college basketball spread with ease and the game goes over. I’ll bet against that occurring however, and will look to add Duke and the under to my suggested same game parlay picks for what’s certain to be a heated battle.
