CFB Futures – 2024 Iowa State Cyclones Win Total Odds
July 16, 2024Open Championship Props Picks
July 17, 2024The last major of the season is here and I hope to continue the excellent run I am on with the golf matchups in the Open Championship. I am 15-3-2 in the last month with the matchups, including 3-1-1 last week with the matchups at the Genesis Scottish Open. Scottie Scheffler is listed as the favorite to win this week’s Open Championship at odds of +450 at Caesars with Rory McIlroy next at odds of +850. Four other players are listed at odds of less than +2000. They are Xander Schauffele at +1000, Collin Morikawa and Ludvig Aberg at +1400 and Bryson DeChambeau at +1700. Let’s look to keep this great run going with the matchups in Scotland. Let’s look at Open Championship matchup picks.
Reduced juice betting is one of the best ways for any sports bettor to save money and far too many people don’t take advantage of it. If you are not playing at a sportsbook that offers reduced juice betting then you are simply giving away money. Check out the latest Open Championship matchup odds at Caesars.
Defending Champion: Brian Harman
Tournament Notes: Royal Troon is a par 71 that is 7,385 yards. It is 195 yards longer than it was in 2016. The 623-yard, par-5 sixth hole will be the longest hole in Open history. It should be noted that the last seven winners at Royal Troon had won a tournament in the same calendar year.

Golf Matchup Picks
Scottie Scheffler -175 vs. Collin Morikawa
I think there is a pretty good-sized gap between Scheffler and everyone else and I wanted to take him in at least one matchup this week. I didn’t really want to go against McIlroy so I chose this matchup against Morikawa. And yes, I know Morikawa is playing well and I took him in the odds preview, but Scheffler is simply the better player. I’ll lay the price and take Scheffler.
Aaron Rai -135 vs. Min Woo Lee
What is not to like about the way Rai is playing right now. You can go all the way back to March and he has five top 10 finishes. In his last three events he has a tie for 2nd, tie for 7th and a tie for 4th. There is no reason to think he won’t have another good week and be in the mix. I’ll take him in this golf betting matchup against Lee.
Tom Kim -120 vs. Robert MacIntyre
As I said last week, one of my go-to strategies in the matchups is to go against last week’s winner if he is playing. MacIntyre got a very emotional win last week in the tournament he most wanted to win and I can’t see anything other than a huge letdown, even in the Open. Kim has been playing at a high level and it would not surprise me at all to see him contend this week. I’ll take Kim in this matchup.
Sahith Theegala +110 vs. Joaquin Niemann
I am surprised that Niemann is favored in this matchup. Theegala continues to play well and he tied for 4th at The Renaissance Club. Niemann has been up and down this season on the LIV Tour and I don’t see him having a good week in Scotland. I’ll take Theegala at plus money.
Tiger Woods -120 vs. Phil Mickelson
The last matchup for me this week will be this one where Tiger is a slight favorite over Phil. Woods has said he is feeling better heading into this week’s Open and that he thinks a course like Royal Troon is where he can contend for the win. There is nothing to like about the way Mickelson is playing right now. I’ll take Tiger in this golf matchup.Check out the latest Open Championship matchup odds at Caesars.
