MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Thursday, May 16
May 15, 2024PGA Championship Prop Picks
May 15, 2024Golf’s second major begins on Thursday in Louisville, Kentucky as the PGA Championship gets underway. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is a solid favorite, as he looks to continue his recent PGA Tour dominance. Scheffler is listed with odds of +300 at Caesars and then it is last week’s Wells Fargo Championship winner, Rory McIlroy, the second choice at odds of +600. They are the only two players listed at single-digit odds. Xander Schauffele, who hasn’t been able to win big events in the past, is next at odds of +1000, followed by the defending PGA Championship winner, Brooks Koepka at odds of +1100. I am coming off a 2-3 week with the matchups at the Wells Fargo Championship. Let’s look at PGA Championship matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Brooks Koepka
Tournament Notes: Valhalla Golf Club is a tough par 71 that extends to 7,609 yards. It is 151 yards longer than it was 10 years ago. Long hitters should definitely have the edge this week and that puts Rory McIlroy in a strong position considering he won in 2014 on this course with four rounds in the 60’s.

Golf Matchup Picks
Rory McIlroy +145 vs. Scottie Scheffler
Scheffler is one of my favorite players and there is no question he is the best player in the world, but the price in this matchup is simply too high. Scheffler hasn’t played in a month and McIlroy is as hot as he can be coming off a dominating win at the Wells Fargo. Scheffler might very well win again, but I can’t pass up McIlroy at this price.
Max Homa +125 vs. Collin Morikawa
I am really surprised at the price on this matchup, as I think Homa should be favored. Homa tied for 3rd at the Masters and he is coming off a good tune-up, as he tied for 8th at Quail Hollow. I know that Morikawa won in his PGA Championship debut, but I still think Homa is the better player and in this matchup, we get him at plus money.
Sepp Straka -125 vs. Alex Noren
Straka should do really well at Valhalla with his length of the tee and accuracy. Straka comes in playing well with two top 10 finishes among five top 20 finishes in his last six starts. He played well in the PGA Championship a year ago with a tie for 7th. I’ll take Straka in this matchup.
Tom Hoge -115 vs. Taylor Moore
I think Hoge continues to be underrated. He is one of the top players in the world in terms of distance and accuracy off the tee. He is a very good long irons player and I expect him to do well at Valhalla. I think this price is definitely too low, as Hoge is the better player.
Stephan Jaeger +105 vs. Russell Henley
There are times you can take Henley to be competitive, but this is not one of them. Valhalla is long and Henley simply doesn’t have the length off the tee to be competitive. Jaeger has been playing well of late and I think he should be listed as the favorite in this matchup.Check out the latest PGA Championship matchup odds at Caesars.
