WGC Dell Technologies Match Play Championship Picks
March 22, 2022Arkansas vs. Gonzaga NCAA Tournament Betting Odds and Prediction
March 22, 2022The DP World Tour heads to Doha this week for the Qatar Masters where Dean Burmester is listed as the favorite. The tournament had originally been scheduled for February but was postponed until March. The event is held at the Doha Golf Club which hosted the event three years ago. Length is extremely valuable this week, as the course is long and if the wind is calm, relatively easy. If the wind picks up things can be more challenging, as there is a plethora of bunkers on the course. Four players are listed at odds of less than 20-1. Burmester is +1400, while George Coetzee, Jordan Smith and Adri Arnaus are listed at +1800. Let’s look at Qatar Masters picks.
Venue: This event takes place at Doha Golf Club which is a par 72 that measures 7,401 yards. The course is located less than a mile from the Persian Gulf coast so wind can be a factor. The course was designed by Peter Harradine and it features numerous bunkers and it has water hazards that come into play on seven holes. The greens have been changed from Bermuda to Paspallum.
Last Year: Antoine Rozner was able to hold off three players to win last year’s event by one shot. Rozner finished at 8-under par which was one shot better than Gaganjeet Bhullar, Darren Fichardt and Guido Migliozzi.

Favorite
Dean Burmester +1400
I know that Burmester comes in playing well and he has been in contention a lot, but as I say every week, there is no value in playing the favorite in golf betting odds. It is hard to win on the European Tour and betting favorites is a sure way to put a hole in your bankroll. One of these weeks a favorite will win, but I am not going to stick my neck out and try and pick which week, so I’ll avoid Burmester this week.
Value Picks
George Coetzee +1800
I think there is a lot more value on Coetzee this week than there is on Burmester. Coetzee has played Doha GC eight times and finished in the Top 12 six of those times. He has a number of high finishes in this event including a second place finish in 2013 and a tie for second in 2019. Coetzee also comes in playing well, as he tied for fourth in the MyGolfLife Open two weeks ago and he tied for 25th last week. I’ll go with Coetzee this week.
Marcus Kinhult +4100
Kinhult seems to do well when the wind picks up so he could be a player to watch this week and he has longshot odds of 41-1. He has played well on these types of course in the past and he comes in playing pretty well, as he tied for eight at the Kenya Open. He tied for third in this event in 2018 and he tied for 7th in this event when it was held at Education City in 2020. I’ll take a shot on Kinhult at big odds.
Jorge Campillo +5000
Campillo finished second in this event in 2019 and he always seems to play well in Qatar. He is working his way back into top form and if he is going to get a win it is most likely to happen in Qatar and we get him at odds of 50-1.
Thorbjorn Olesen +6500
It has been tough for Olesen in recent years, but he has played well at Doha in the past and he is making some progress in his game. The field this week is not that strong and Olesen could hit at a big price.
Jack Senior +12500
The Doha course plays like a links course and Senior has done well on links course in his career. He led the Scottish Open last year at the halfway mark so we know he can play links golf. He was in strong position to win last year as he was tied for second in this event a year ago after 54 holes. He is not in top form currently, but that is why we are getting a big price. If Senior comes in at this price he makes the whole year for us.
