RBC Canadian Open Odds and Picks
May 28, 2024BetMGM Will Provide Odds for Associated Press
May 30, 2024Rory McIlroy is favored to win this week’s RBC Canadian Open. McIlroy is the clear standout in this week’s field, as he is the only player in the top 10 in the latest World Golf Rankings in the field. McIlroy is listed with odds of +300 at Caesars. Tommy Fleetwood is a distant second in golf betting odds at +1600. McIlroy has done well in this event in the past, winning it twice, in 2019 and 2022. Last year it was Canadian Nick Taylor giving the fans something to cheer about, as he won his home country tournament. I bounced back with a nice 3-1-1 week with the matchups last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Let’s look at RBC Canadian Open matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Nick Taylor
Tournament Notes: Hamilton Golf & Country Club’s is 7,084 yards, which is 117 yards longer than it was in 2019 when McIlroy posted 22-under par. All of the bunkers and greens have been re-done with the greens being 20% larger on average. Precision will be required this week, as distance off the tee is not as important as it is on some courses.

Golf Matchup Picks
Maverick McNealy -120 vs. Keith Mitchell
McNealy is a player who can put up low scores and the scoring this week should be really good. McNealy is tied for 9th on the PGA Tour in scoring and he is 10th in adjusted scoring. He has only two top 10 finishes this season, but this course suits his game and I expect him to have a good week. He was one of the players I targeted in this week’s odds preview. I’ll lay the small golf betting price and take McNealy in this matchup.
Adam Hadwin -115 vs. Mackenzie Hughes
Hadwin was in a good position in this tournament when it was held at Hamilton in 2019, as he was just one shot out of the lead. He finished in sixth place in 2019 and he is capable of contending again this time around. He has four top 10 finishes this season. I’ll take him in this golf matchup against Hughes.
Tom Kim -175 vs. Ryo Hisatsune
It is time for Kim to post a high finish. He has been playing better of late and he is a player who can shoot low scores. He is tied for 7th on the PGA Tour with 27 rounds under 70. This is a good course for him to go low and I’ll lay the price and take him in this matchup against Hisatsune.
Nick Taylor -110 vs. Ryo Hisatsune
The defending champion is playing well this season and he is up to No. 30 in the latest World Rankings. He already has a win this season, as he won the WM Phoenix Open and there is no reason he can’t play well again this week. I will take him in this matchup against Hisatsune.
Seamus Power -110 vs. Beau Hossler
One of the things that has worked well this season in terms of the golf betting matchups is going against Hossler. He seems to get frustrated too often and loses his focus. This course demands accuracy and I can’t see Hossler having a lot of success. I’ll take Power in this matchup.Check out the latest RBC Canadian Open matchup odds at Caesars.
