NBA Western Conference Playoff Preview
April 17, 2024A Great Start for North Carolina Sports Betting
April 18, 2024A very good field is assembled this week for the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina. As of this writing it is Scottie Scheffler listed as the solid betting favorite at Caesars but that is subject to change, as Scheffler’s wife is pregnant and due anytime and that would mean a withdrawal from Scheffler if his wife goes into labor. It is also reasonable to expect a letdown from Scheffler after last week’s Masters win, but it should be noted that Scheffler is the one player in golf who has been winning as the betting favorite. It was ugly last week with the Masters matchups for me and that makes for a very uncharacteristic two bad weeks in a row. I am looking for a huge bounce back this week. Let’s look at RBC Heritage matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Matt Fitzpatrick
Tournament Notes: Harbour Town is a course that demands precision just like Augusta did last week, but the course is not as long and that means shorter hitters have a chance to win. This week is all about tee-to-green since the greens are smaller and putting is not a huge prerequisite to winning.

Golf Matchup Picks
Xander Schauffele +170 vs. Scottie Scheffler
I don’t go against Scheffler except on very rare occasions, as he is the best player in the world, but I think it is worth a shot this week with his wife expecting and after last week’s huge win at the Masters. All Scheffler has to do is tee off and then if he withdraws then this bet is a win. I have to take a shot at the big plus money on Schauffele who finished fourth in this event a year ago.
Patrick Cantlay -110 vs. Tommy Fleetwood
I know that Cantlay has struggled this season but I still think he is a better golfer than Fleetwood and the odds on this matchup are basically a pick. It would be just like Cantlay to show up with a big week and win this tournament. He has been excellent at Harbour Town with four top five finishes.
Cameron Young -110 vs. Collin Morikawa
I know that Morikawa showed up last week at the Masters, but count me among the people who are not sold yet. I think Morikawa is overrated and I don’t think he has figured out all of his issues. Young tied for 3rd in this event in 2022 and I simply think he is a better player than Morikawa.
Sepp Straka -135 vs. Cam Davis
I took a shot with Straka as a longshot in the odds preview and I am backing him in this matchup as well. I think this is a good course for Straka and I think he is undervalued on the odds board.
Tom Kim -110 vs. Akshay Bhatia
I know that I have backed Kim and not gotten much in terms of results, but I still think he is a future star. I know that Bhatia got his win but is he really on the level of Kim? I don’t think so and I am taking Kim in this matchup.Check out the latest RBC Heritage odds at Caesars.
