October 1, 2024The PGA Tour gets back into action this week with the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi. While this tournament is an official PGA Tour event, it has one of the weakest fields in recent memory, as none of the world’s top players are in attendance. The only player in the world’s top 50 players in the field is Nick Dunlap and he is not even listed as the golf betting favorite in this event. Keith Mitchell is listed as the favorite at PROLINE+ at odds of 23-1. He is followed by closely by Seamus Power, Maverick McNealy and Mackenzie Hughes at 26-1. It should be a good week to find some golf betting value. Let’s look at Sanderson Farms Championship odds and picks.

Venue: The Country Club of Jackson is a par 72 that measures 7,461 yards. It is considered a relatively easy course with wide fairways and water in play on just five holes.
Last Year: Luke List won last year’s event by winning a five-man playoff. It took him just one hole, as he had a birdie to win the event. Finishing in a tie for second were Henrik Norlander, Scott Stallings, Ben Griffin and Ludvig Aberg.

Golf Picks
J.J. Spaun 29-1
This course in Jackson is all about hitting it in the fairway and hitting good approach shots. That describes the game of Spaun who should do well this week. He won the Valero Texas Open on greens like these and he comes in playing well with a number of solid finishes. He can definitely be in the mix this week and we get odds of nearly 30-1.
Emiliano Grillo 56-1
One of the few recognizable names in the field is Grillo and he is capable of doing well on this course. He tied for 5th in this event two years ago and the course definitely suits his game, as he is very accurate off the tee and good on approach. We are getting a lot of value on Grillo this week at this number.
Lucas Glover 51-1
One player in the field who has won previously is Glover and he is a player who ranks highly in Strokes Gained Approach and we know he is accurate off the tee. It is always worth considering a player who has won six times on the PGA Tour in a field this weak. He finished 5th in this event in 2016 and he has been in contention a number of other times in this tournament.
Henrik Norlander 71-1
Norlander definitely likes this course, as he finished 2nd last year, as he lost in the playoff, he was 4th in 2020 and 4th in 2021. He ranks highly in a number of categories on this course and he needs to play well in the FedExCup Fall schedule to get back into the Top 125.
Nick Hardy 111-1
Hardy has hitting the ball well but he has not been scoring, but that could change this week on a course Hardy likes. He tied for 5th in this event a year ago and was one of the best in the field in Strokes Gained: Approach. I’ll take a flyer on him at this number.
Garrick Higgo 100-1
Higgo is in the same boat as Hardy in that he needs to play well in upcoming tournaments or he won’t be on the PGA Tour next season. He has played well in Jackson including a 3rd two years ago. His overall stats on this course make him worth a longshot pick.Check out the latest Sanderson Farms Championship odds at PROLINE+.
