May 27, 2022College Football Betting – Big 12 Title Odds
May 27, 2022Saturday night brings us an electric showdown in the world of boxing. Two undefeated warriors will square off in the ring, but only one can come out a winner.
World Champion Gervonta Davis will put his 26-0 record on the line as he faces up-and-coming Rolando Romero. Davis has been dominant in his professional boxing career thus far, landing 24 KOs in his 26 decisions. For that reason, he is a heavy favorite to take home the crown.
The southpaw has been a five-time world champion, winning titles in three different divisions. Now, he defends his lightweight belt against the unblemished Romero.
Don’t count Romero out, though. The 26-year-old can also pack a punch as noted by his 85% KO rate. The youngster has knocked 12 of his 14 foes out, leading to a perfect 14-0 mark as a pro. Romero also boasts a 2.5-inch height advantage, though Davis’s long arms help negate the reach discrepancy.
Can Romero upset the champ or will Davis successfully defend his belt? We should have a good one on our hands for this Pay-Per-View showdown.

The Odds
Gervonta Davis enters this matchup as a heavy, heavy favorite, and for good reason. He’s yet to lose a fight. He’s dominated his competition at every level. He’s knocked out an incredible 92% of his opponents. Simply put, he’s one of the most impressive pound-for-pound boxers at any division.
With those accolades come high expectations. Davis is listed as a -1250 favorite according at Sugar House Sportsbook.
Romero, on the other hand, has a bit less experience. He boasts just 14 wins to Davis’s 26, though he has posted a perfect mark in those fights. Still, he’s viewed as a massive underdog in this highly anticipated bout with odds of +550.
The Pick
These two boxers don’t like each other. The trash talk leading into the event has been abundant, though it’s been the underdog Romero who’s done most of the chirping. The lead up to the fight should make for some high drama entertainment for eager viewers.
This first bout between these two fighters was actually postponed as Romero dealt with some legal issues (he was accused of a sexual assault but has since been cleared). Now, fans can prepare for one of boxing’s most intense showdowns of the year.
Both of these fighters, while undefeated, have seen struggles in their last few outings. Romero took down Jackson Martinez last August, though many believe that the decision could’ve easily gone the other way. He’s since won a pair of fights via knockout to get back on track.
Davis was taken the distance his last time out against Isaac Cruz. That December meeting was close but the champ eventually prevailed to remain unblemished. Despite that close call, Davis remains the favorite and will provide Romero with his toughest test yet.
When looking at this fight, there are a few interesting storylines. You can look to the outright winner, method of decision, and length of the fight. The easiest choice is to go with Davis. The southpaw should defend his belt and escape with a win. The only issue is the value of the bet. You’re going to have to lay down some serious dough to make any sort of profit, here, as a $1,250 wager only yields a $100 win.
If you can find method of victory and length of fight props, you can probably find more value. When looking at the fighting history, these two tend to go deep into bouts. Three of Davis’s last four matchups have gone at least six rounds. Each of Romero’s last three fights have gone seven rounds or more.
These two are also notorious for the knockout. Of the 40 combined decisions, 36 have ended in KO. Depending on who you believe will win, a KO decision could be the best method to bet on.
We’re sticking with Davis, here, as he’s the more proven fighter. Look for the lefty to land a late round knockout to stay undefeated.
The Pick: Gervonta Davis via KO
