Super Bowl – Best Plays in Super Bowl History Part 2
January 31, 2022AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Odds and Picks
February 1, 2022For the second straight year, a team will get to play at home for the Super Bowl. The first 54 Super Bowls didn’t have a team playing at home, but Tampa Bay finally made history last year and went on to upset Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.
The Los Angeles Rams will now look to follow in their footsteps in their new digs, and the oddsmakers have them favored to beat the Cincinnati Bengals on the NFL latest line. Joe Burrow has done an incredible job to get the Bengals to this point, yet Cincinnati’s offensive line will have a hard time blocking Aaron Donald and company.

Favorites have a slight edge over underdogs in terms of historical Super Bowl bets. Underdogs have had a lot of success recently though with seven of the last ten underdogs going on to win the Super Bowl. There was a five-year stretch where the underdog won every year starting with the New York Giants upsetting the New England Patriots on the grandest stage for a second time.
The under cashed in seven straight Super Bowls between Super Bowl III and Super Bowl IX. Since that point, the over has been a better play, but the under has now hit in three straight Super Bowls.
This will be the third trip to the Super Bowl for the Cincinnati Bengals. They faced the San Francisco 49ers twice in the 1980s, but they fell to Joe Montana both times. Each game was close though as the 49ers won by five points in Super Bowl XVI and then overcame a late deficit with a 92-yard touchdown drive to best the Bengals in Super Bowl XXIII.
The Rams have now made it to the Super Bowl five times. They lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in their debut trip in 1979, and their lone Super Bowl victory came in 1999 against the Tennessee Titans when Mike Jones tackled Kevin Dyson one yard short of the goal line. Their two most recent trips to the Super Bowl resulted in losses to the New England Patriots, so this team will be happy to not see Bill Belichick on the other sideline.
