Sunday College Hoops Parlay Legs
January 27, 2023AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Picks
January 31, 2023It was another showing in the black for my Super Tuesday College Hoops Parlay Legs last week after cashing in two of the three suggested positions. The night started off with a downer after Penn State got their doors blown off in the RAC, but Mizzou and K-State made up for the Nittany Lions shortcomings. I said I might’ve found the road game that the Tigers could win, and Dennis Gates’ kids obliged by taking it to Ole Miss. Though the Wildcats ultimately failed to get the job done in the Hilton Coliseum, the 80-76 defeat saw them cover the 5-point college basketball odds to secure the winning night. Let’s continue adding to the bottom line at PointsBet Sportsbook with three more investments you can confidently throw into your parlay cards on Super Tuesday!

Texas A&M Aggies vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
Date and Time: Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 7 PM EST
Location: Bud Walton Arena, Fayetteville, AR
TV Coverage: ESPN2
Since dropping a tough 79-76 decision at Mizzou in a game we backed the Tigers and watched the Razorbacks cough up a double-digit lead with fewer than eight minutes remaining, Eric Musselman’s kids have taken their game to a new level. They’re 2-1 SU and a perfect 3-0 ATS over the last three games with the lone defeat coming this past Saturday at Baylor in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. While the offense still leaves a bit to be desired with Nick Smith Jr.’s scoring prowess and athletic ability absent from the lineup, Arkansas has been handling its business at the other end of the court which leads me to believe a concerted effort will be put forth in this first of two showdowns with the Aggies.
While Buzz Williams has got Texas A&M playing a fantastic brand of ball (15-6, 13-8 ATS), it’s been getting smiled upon by the basketball gods over the last few weeks. Negative regression is bound to hit a team so reliant upon forcing turnovers to get the offense’s motor humming. But for as great Wade Taylor IV and co. have been at forcing offensive miscues (No. 48), the Hogs have been even better (No. 35) and they also play the stingier brand of defense in allowing just over 65 points per game (No. 67). A&M does most of its offensive damage close to the rack (No. 75) by hitting the offensive glass (No. 12). However, the Hogs defensive strength comes with preventing points in the paint (No. 43) and it’s the best defensive rebounding team in the SEC (No. 56). Anthony Black and his crew should be laying just over a possession, and that’s a price point I’ll comfortably lay with the expectation Arkansas protects its house and wins by margin.

Indiana Hoosiers vs. Maryland Terrapins
Date and Time: Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 9 PM EST
Location: XFINITY Center, College Park, MD
TV Coverage: ESPN2
A biggy is set to go down in College Park on Super Tuesday with a pair of red hot squads squaring off against one another in their one and only regular season skirmish. The Hoosiers hit the road fresh off an 86-70 pounding of Ohio State at home as 4.5-point favorites. The win marked the team’s fifth straight and fourth cover in five tries! As for Maryland, it just made minced meat of the undermanned Nebraska Cornhuskers over the weekend in a game we comfortably laid the double-digit home chalk. The triumph was the team’s second straight and third in the last five (4-0 ATS) with the lone defeat coming in a point spread covering effort at Big 10 leading Purdue.
Though the Terrapins boast the worse overall and conference records, I got Kevin Willard’s kids installed the short favorite for this matchup and would jump at the opportunity to back the home team if in fact linemakers offered up any points at the open. Maryland’s guard play and bigs down low will give Trayce Jackson-Davis and his mates’ headaches. Jahmir Young and Donta Scott have been balling of late, and each is going to be tough for a beatable Indiana defense to contend with for a full 40. Should the Hoosiers excelled 3-point shooting fail to hit the mark against the pesky long ball defense of the Terps (No. 45), Maryland will make it tough on the visitors by slowing the game to a crawl and close the game out from the charity stripe where it’s converted at better than a 73 percent clip (No. 114). I can see the Hoosiers overlooking this match with bigger game in the form of Purdue up next. Look for Maryland to take advantage!

San Diego State Aztecs vs. Nevada Wolf Pack
Date and Time: Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11 PM EST
Location: Lawlor Events Center, Reno, NV
TV Coverage: CBS Sports Network
Let’s close the night out in Reno for a pivotal Mountain West clash that finds San Diego State invading the Lawlor Events Center for a dustup with the Nevada Wolf Pack. Brian Dutcher’s Aztecs currently sit atop the conference standings with a 17-4 record that’s seen them go a bankroll depleting 8-11-1 against the closing college basketball odds at PointsBet. Matt Bradley and co. have won all four of their MWC road games (3-1 ATS), but are yet to run up against an opponent with a pulse. A win here would be a huge get for the visitors with Nevada coming in an unblemished 11-0 at home with wins already in the bag against Boise State and New Mexico.
These squads collided at the Viejas Arena back on January 10 in a game the Aztecs cruised to the 74-65 win and push as 9-point favorites. San Diego State built a 44-27 halftime lead by way of shooting 50 percent from the field to never look back. Nevada had all kinds of issues dealing with the Aztecs size and depth with SDST outboarding Darrion Williams (7.8 RPG) and his mates 32-28 with 18 of the offense’s 25 made shots being assisted. The Wolf Pack are the second luckiest team in the MWC per the Pomeroy Ratings. The single possession home wins over the Broncos and Lobos as well as the 5-point win over Utah State is enough for me to fade them against the conference leaders in this ultimate litmus test.
