NFL Week 18 Parlay Picks
January 5, 2023Raiders, Chargers, and Rams are the Rabid Dawgs of Week 18
January 5, 2023Three straight broom jobs – are you kidding me?! Nope, I don’t kid! We swept the board over at PointsBet Sportsbook with our teaser legs for the third straight week after cashing in with the Lions, Seahawks, and Steelers without a single bead of sweat dropping from the brow. Detroit went on to smash the Chicago Bears in an ugly one-sided affair to kick things off. Then Seattle came through in the afternoon slate shockingly handling the win-hungry Jets with ease. Closing it all out in the night cap was an exceptional late-game run by Pittsburgh mostly due to Kenny Pickett coming up huge!
Here’s to pulling out another sweep in Week 18 with three more teaser legs!

Miami Dolphins +7.5 -325
What a monumental fall from grace it’s been for the Dolphins who at one point stood 8-3 SU and in line to steal the AFC East title away from the Buffalo Bills. Since scoring 30 first half points against the Texans and then going scoreless in the second half to kill my over 30.5 team total bet, the Fins have dropped five straight to the 49ers, Chargers, Bills, Packers, and Patriots. All five of those teams have either locked up playoff bids or are fighting for one this weekend. The Jets were just eliminated from playoff contention last week after putting forth a punchless effort in Seattle.
With Tua Tagovailoa not expected to suit up on Sunday, Miami more or less finds itself in a pick ‘em game against a New York team that plastered them 40-17 back in Week 5 as field goal home dogs. The key to cashing this teaser leg in is Teddy Bridgewater finding a way to not get knocked out of the game. Miami is the better overall team even with all the injuries taking a huge bite out of the roster. I still have faith in the team and clamor to see Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in the second season.
Let’s go Teddy Covers – Git ‘Er Done in this do-or-die spot!
So Deshaun Watson and the Browns came up huge for me last week by going into Washington and ending the Commanders season. All last week, I stated it would be so Cleveland Browns to go into FedExField and end another team’s season after theirs was unceremoniously ended the week prior. That’s exactly how it went down, and it wouldn’t shock me in the least if they pulled the feat off once again by making sure Mike Tomlin suffered the first losing season of his illustrious NFL coaching career.
As impressive Pittsburgh’s comeback was last week, it’s still going to march Kenny Pickett onto the gridiron with the hope he can lead the team to a win. Then it will be forced to pray the Dolphins and Patriots go down in defeat. That’s a ton of pressure to put on the shoulders of a rookie quarterback making what in essence is the first playoff start of his career. Pittsburgh pulled off a sweep of this division rivalry last year for the first time since 2017 and you know darn well the Browns would love to return the favor after skunking their hated rival 29-17 back in Week 3. Regardless of whether they bust out the brooms or not, this will end up being a one-score game.
Detroit Lions +10.5 -250
Never in my wet and wildest did I envision the Green Bay Packers having a shot to punch a ticket to the playoffs at the end of November with the team owners of a 4-8 SU record, but here we are in Week 18 and Aaron Rodgers has the Cheeseheads on the precipice of playing their way in. Adding to the drama is the fact that Detroit also needs to win and get help to land the seventh and final playoff bid in the NFC.
If Seattle does go on to defeat the Los Angeles Rams and clinch the last playoff spot, I will have a hard time believing Green Bay goes all-out to win this game. Even if the Seahawks somehow manage to choke and lose outright as near touchdown home favorites, I love Detroit catching double-digits in what would ultimately become a fight to the death with the winner advancing and the loser going home to cry in their beer.
While the Packers run defense has been stout over the course of its four-game win streak, it only ran up against one opponent with a rushing pulse; that being the Bears who ripped them for 155 yards on 25 carries. D’Andre Swift is back to being the fantasy cheat code many expected him to be at the outset of the season before the injury bug once again reared its ugly head. Green Bay is likely to get theirs through the air in the rematch, but so too will the Lions on the ground whose underrated rushing attack will keep the game close all the way through if not lead the team to the outright win!
