MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Wednesday, May 1
April 30, 2024Horse Racing Odds – Kentucky Derby Picks
May 1, 2024We are coming off a win last week, as the team of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at odds of +700. It was yet another week where the golf betting favorite lost, as it was the team of Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schaufele who were favored and they were really never in contention. Scottie Scheffler is the only golf betting favorite worth backing. This week’s event in Texas does not have a strong field, as only one player ranked in the latest World Golf Ranking Top 20 is in the field and that is Jordan Spieth at No. 20. Spieth, however, is not playing well of late, as he has missed the cut in three of his last five starts. The favorite this week is actually Si Woo Kim at odds of +1400 at Caesars.

Favorite
Si Woo Kim +1400
It goes without saying now that I am not taking a golf betting favorite unless his name is Scottie Scheffler. I know Kim played well in this event a year ago, but this is still Si Woo Kim and he simply doesn’t win or contend that often. I will look elsewhere.
Golf Picks
Min Woo Lee +2800
I have been a bit hard on Lee at times in this column, but this could be a good spot for him. The field is weak, and the course is relatively easy. Lee should do better on bentgrass greens and Lee has putted well on those greens in the past. He played well at Augusta and his overall numbers are actually pretty good. I think he can win this week and we get a decent price.
Tom Kim +3000
A golfer I have been disappointed in is definitely Kim. I have to admit that I expected more from Kim this season. The good news is that Kim has been playing better and starting to show the form that had many people predicting superstardom for him. He should be able to post some low numbers this week and I think he can contend.
Adam Schenk +3500
Schenk is another player who can shoot low scores. He is within shouting distance of the Top 50 in the latest World Golf Ranking and there is no reason he can’t hang with this field. He is playing better of late including a 12th at the Masters. He is also a player who likes the bentgrass greens. I’ll take him at 35-1.
Mackenzie Hughes +4500
Hughes was 2nd in this event at the midway point a year ago. He is in better form this year and I expect a strong tournament from him. He has been putting really well of late and he is ranking well in Approach around the green. He has two wins on the PGA Tour and he can contend for his third win this week.
Seamus Power +5500
Power is another player who does better on easy courses. He started this year slowly but he is playing better lately. He finished 12th last time out at the RBC Heritage. His PGA Tour wins previously came on easy courses and in weaker fields and that fits the bill for this week to a tee.
Matti Schmid +10000
Why not one bomb in here. Schmid can compete against this field, as he ranks pretty well in numbers off the tee and in putting. He was 10th at the Puerto Rico Open and he plays well in events with weaker fields. He also showed up pretty well at the Valspar with a 17th. I’ll take a flyer on him at big odds.Check out the CJ CUP Byron Nelson odds at Caesars.
