Wednesday College Basketball Parlay Picks for February 22
February 21, 2023The Honda Classic Picks – Golf
February 21, 2023The NBA gets back into action on Thursday with nine games, including a pair of TNT games, as the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Philadelphia 76ers while the Golden State Warriors are at the Los Angeles Lakers. The first game back after the All-Star break is always tricky, as teams get back into gear, but there are always some good betting opportunities. Last Wednesday we had a number of winners for your parlays so we’ll look to continue picking winning teams for Thursday NBA parlays.
Thursday, February 22nd Parlay Teams
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers have been a winning team for us recently and I am not going to get off the bandwagon now. I know that the game on Thursday against the Celtics won’t be easy, but Boston hasn’t been anything special on the road this season and Indiana has been solid at home. I think the number on this game is too high, as Boston is nearly a double-digit road favorite. Are the Celtics really good enough to be laying big numbers on the road? Last year when these teams met at Indiana the Celtics were laying a similar number of points and they got blown out. I don’t know that Boston will get blown out, but I definitely like the Pacers plus the points in this Thursday night matchup.
Philadelphia 76ers
One thing we know about the Grizzlies is that they are very good at home and that they struggle on the road. Why will it be any different on Thursday night? The 76ers have been a very good home team this season and Memphis hasn’t been able to do much away from home this season. I am a little surprised the number isn’t higher, as the 76ers are listed as just a 4-point home favorite. That fact has me a little wary, but I still have to take Philadelphia at home in this spot.
New Orleans Pelicans
Two teams on the bubble in terms of making the playoffs meet on Thursday, as New Orleans visits Toronto. The Pelicans are in 7th place in the West but only a game and a half ahead of Utah who is currently in 11th place and would be out if the playoffs started today. The Raptors are in 10th place in the East and just a couple games in front of Chicago. In a situation with two similar teams, I like to take the points. The Pelicans haven’t always won in Toronto, as they are just 3-7 SU in the last 10, but they are 6-3-1 ATS. I think this is a spot where they can get the road win, so I will take New Orleans plus the points.
Los Angeles Lakers
Do you believe LeBron James when he said the most important games of his career are coming up? If so, you may want to ride the Lakers for a little while. Los Angeles currently sits outside of a playoff spot so they have to make up some serious ground in the West. It is possible, as the Lakers are only two games back of the Thunder for 10th place and only 3.5 games behind Dallas for 7th place. The Warriors have not been a good road team for much of the season, so you can make a case for betting against them simply for that fact alone. I’ll take the Lakers as the final team to consider for your Thursday night NBA parlays.
Thursday, February 22nd Totals
I’ll make a separate category here and give you a couple of totals to consider for your Thursday NBA parlays. The Celtics and Pacers have been going over of late when they get together at Indiana, with six of the last seven going over the total, including the last three. I’ll go over with the Celtics and Pacers. The Thunder and Jazz had been going under the total quite a bit when the games have been played in Utah but last year the game went over. The previous seven meetings in Salt Lake had gone under. I’ll go under with the Thunder and Jazz.
