December 26, 2023The New York Jets are winding up their season from hell. Aaron Rodgers was hurt in the season’s first series and lost for the year. Zach Wilson remains inconsistent and is in concussion protocol for Thursday night’s game at the Cleveland Browns. The Jets were a trendy pick on the future market. Now, they are a team that gamblers love to oppose. Little was expected from the Cleveland Browns in 2023. But the Browns are playoff-bound as one of the NFL’s great surprises.

New York Jets at Cleveland Browns (-7, OU 36.5) 8:15 pm, Prime Video
On Thursday, December 28, 2023, the New York Jets of the AFC East will host the Cleveland Browns of the AFC North at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Kickoff time is 8:15 p.m. ET, with television coverage on Prime Video.
Last game, the New York Jets won 30-28 against the Washington Commanders as 3-point home favorites. The game went over the total of 36. New York has a record of 6-9 straight up, 5-9-1 against the spread, and 6-9 over/under the total. New York ranks 31st for total offense, 31st for passing, 28th for rushing and 30th for scoring. Defensively, they rank 4th overall, 2nd against the pass, 24th against the rush, and 14th for points allowed. Also, New York ranks 31st for fewest turnovers lost and 17th for takeaways.
Greg Zuerlein kicked a 54-yard field goal with 5 seconds left, rescuing the Jets from what would have been an embarrassing loss after they blew a 20-point third-quarter lead and needed to come back to beat the Commanders. Jacoby Brissett replaced the benched Sam Howell in the third quarter and led the Commanders on three straight touchdown drives, including Antonio Gibson’s 2-yard run that put Washington ahead 28-27 with 4:52 remaining.
After the Jets held Brissett and the Commanders to a three-and-out, they got the ball back with 1:41 remaining. Siemian marched New York into field goal range, and Zuerlein booted the game-winner.
Trevor Siemian finished 27 of 49 for 217 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception in his first start in place of the injured Zach Wilson. Hall ran for 95 yards and two TDs and caught 12 passes for 96 yards in the home finale for New York.
Last game, the Cleveland Browns won 36-22 against the Houston Texans as 3-point road favorites. The game went over the total of 40. Cleveland has a record of 10-5 straight up, 10-5 against the spread, and 8-6-1 over/under the total. Cleveland ranks 13th for total offense, 20th for passing, 11th for rushing and 10th for scoring. Defensively, they rank 1st overall, 1st against the pass, 10th against the rush, and 12th for points allowed. Also, Cleveland ranks 32nd for fewest turnovers lost and 4th for takeaways.
After Amari Cooper grabbed a 53-yard reception on the game’s first play Sunday, the Cleveland Browns star thought he’d be in for a big day. It turned out to be the biggest day for a receiver in team history. Cooper set a franchise record with 265 yards receiving and scored two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion, and the Browns beat the Houston Texans 36-22 to move closer to a playoff berth.
Cooper’s performance moved him atop the Browns’ record book ahead of Josh Gordon, who had 261 yards receiving against Jacksonville on Dec. 1, 2013. It was also the most receiving yards in an NFL game this season. Cooper has 1,250 yards, making him the first receiver in team history with consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
It was his third 200-yard receiving game, and he joined Terrell Owens as the only player to do it with three teams. Cooper had a 226-yard game with the Cowboys and a 210-yard game for the Raiders.
The Browns can’t clinch a playoff spot this week, but at 10-5, they’re all but guaranteed to secure just their second postseason appearance since 2002. It’s the third time since 1999 that they’ve reached double-digit wins, doing so in 2007 and 2020.
Joe Flacco threw for 368 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in his fourth start for the Browns, who built a 22-7 halftime lead and cruised to their third straight victory.
Jets at Browns Rams Free Parlay Pick
On this occasion, the Jets are coming off an impressive game in which Siemian played well. But New York is one of the worst values on the board, with one payout in its last nine games. The Jets went under the total in seven of their last ten games.
