Scores and Odds NCAAB – NCAA Basketball Tournament Overview
The NCAA Tournament begins with the First Four on March 19 and 20. Following the First Four are the first and second rounds from March 21 through March 24. The Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight run from March 28 through March 31. Then, the Final Four and the national championship game are held on April 6 and 8.
Connecticut Maintains Free College Basketball Odds Value
Connecticut covered 20 out of 31 games while posting a 28-3 straight up record. UConn is one of the most balanced teams in the league. UConn ranks 30th in the nation for scoring offense and 13th for points allowed. Head coach Dan Hurley is an asset himself with the College Basketball Odds Lines. But the 2007 Florida Gators were the last team to repeat as national champions.
Houston Clamps Down – Betting Odds on College Basketball
Like UConn, the Houston Cougars are 28-3 straight up, but they covered only 14 out of 31 games against the spread. Houston has had cold dice down the stretch, with only two payouts in its last 11 games. Head coach Kelvin Sampson has masterminded the top defense in the nation. However, Houston’s offense remains inconsistent, ranking 165th for scoring offense.
Is This Finally the Year for Purdue?
The Purdue Boilermakers have finished in the AP Top 20 in seven of its last eight seasons and have ranked from 1st to 3rd this season. Yet with all of that success, head coach Matt Painter has delivered one Elite Eight and three Sweet Sixteen appearances. Last year, the Boilermakers were booted out in the first round.
Purdue ranks 11th out of 360 teams for scoring offense and is led by one of the greatest players in college basketball history. Zach Edey is averaging 24.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
Purdue failed to beat the Las Vegas Odds for College Basketball in five of its last seven games. But the Boilermakers were slightly in the black overall this season despite heavy public betting action on them.
Tennessee Shows Strength Down the Stretch
The Tennessee Volunteers were one of the best values on the board at the end of the season. Tennessee got the cash in eight of its last 11 games. The Vols also clamped down to go under the total in six of their most recent seven games. Unlike previous seasons, Tennessee showed greater balance than in past seasons. Tennessee ranks 43rd for scoring offense and 65th for points allowed. Their increase in offensive production is led by Dalston Knecht’s 21.4 points per game.
Arizona is Nothing But Net
The Arizona Wildcats were one of the highest scoring teams in the nation, ranking 3rd for points per game. Offsetting that was a defense that ranks 223rd for points allowed. That combination of extremes served Arizona well on the hardwood and at the betting window. Arizona lost only two of its final nine games to the spread en route to the top spot in the Pac-12 Conference.
Head coach Tommy Lloyd, now in his third year, has proven to be an astute hire. In his first two seasons, Lloyd led Arizona to the Sweet 16 and a first round loss in March Madness.
