Stephen Fulton Vs. Daniel Roman – PBC Showtime PPV
June 2, 2022Weekend MLB Best Bets
June 3, 2022Saturday night presents us with a top 10 matchup in the octagon. The heavyweight showdown between Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik gives viewers a look at two impressive kickboxers who hope to continue their ascent up the MMA rankings.
While both boast kickboxing experience, the styles that they may look to utilize are vastly different. Volkov has the edge in reach, though he cedes an advantage to his opponent in striking power. With that being said, he may look to get this fight to the mat.
Despite his desire to turn this into a wrestling match, Volkov was beaten badly by submission at the hands of Tom Aspinall. That first-round defeat saw his overall record fall to 8-4 as a UFC fighter and 34-10 as a pro. In those 34 victories, 22 have come via the knockout.
Rozenstruik will likely look to keep this fight upright as he boasts an advantage in striking. While Volkov may throw more volume (4.83 strikes per minute), Rozenstruik will try to find opportunities to counter. The man they call Bigi Boy, Rozenstruik possesses knockout power as noted by his 11 KOs in 12 wins. That said, he doesn’t throw a ton of punches and his wrestling game is limited.
Unfortunately, he’s struggled a bit of late albeit against some top competition. His last three defeats have come at the hands of No. 1 contender Ciryl Gane, champion Francis Ngannou, and Curtis Blaydes. The latest loss to Blaydes came by way of unanimous decision, which is a method of defeat he’s looking to avoid against Volkov. If Bigi Boy wants a win, he’ll want it to come before the final bell.
Let’s take a look at the upcoming bout to determine the best bets for the fight and predict a winner.

If you’re looking at method of victory, the sportsbooks see the bout ending in two likely ways. Should Volkov leave with a win, the most likely method comes via decision. If he’s able to go the distance and land a victory, he’ll cash in on the +190 odds.
On the other hand, oddsmakers believe that if Rozenstruik wins, it will come via the knockout. His odds for a KO or TKO come in at +200, by far the most likely method when compared to +550 for decision and +3300 for submission.
UFC Prediction
This one should be tightly contested, going late into the bout. While Volkov enters with more fanfare, as well as the better odds, Rozenstruik provides the best value. And if you’re going to take Bigi Boy to win, you might as well go ahead and take the extra risk of the fight ending in knockout.
Rozenstruik boasts the power to end this fight early, the key will be his ability to get inside Volkov’s reach advantage. Standing at 6-foot-7, he stands five inches taller than his opponent. Still, Rozenstruik could allow Volkov to wear himself out with volume, finding a way to slip in a late knockout blow.
Take the underdog, here.
The Pick: Jairzinho Rozenstruik to win by knockout (+200)
