USFL Betting – Week 10 Odds and Picks
June 16, 2022Sunday Night Baseball Preview – Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros
June 16, 2022Everything is bigger in Texas, including the fights. The UFC returns to American soil this weekend after making its first ever appearance in Singapore. We’ll see No. 4 ranked featherweight fighter Calvin Kattar taking on No. 7 ranked foe Josh Emmett.
While it’s not a title fight, the featherweight matchup does boast two of the top fighters in the class. And based on the opening odds, it should be a highly entertaining battle between a pair of equally matched opponents.
Kattar will enter this bout fresh off of a victory against Giga Chikadze in January. The win was a nice bounce back from a one-sided loss to No. 1 contender Max Holloway last year. With the win, he’s now 7-3 since entering the UFC five years ago. It also landed him his 23rd victory in 28 chances as a professional fighter.
Emmett has seen even better success of late, winning each of his last four bouts. Most recently, he defeated Dan Ige last December to move his UFC record to 8-2. As a pro, Emmett has compiled an impressive 17-2 mark.
Which will continue their winning ways, and which will leave defeated?
Betmaker takes a look at the upcoming match to give a preview, prediction, and best bet for the fight.

UFC Fight Night Betting Preview
The more highly ranked Kattar enters as a slight favorite over Emmett, boasting -230 odds at Sugar House Sportsbook. Those who like Kattar will need to lay down $230 in order to see a $100 profit. The underdog, Emmett, comes in with +180 chances of pulling the upset, meaning a $100 bet could land a $180 win.
While the books are leaning towards Kattar, this should be a pretty evenly matched fight which could extend into the later rounds. Both fighters prefer to stand up and box, though they both possess wrestling backgrounds. With similar styles of play, it could become a chess match with each opponent looking to find a mismove before striking.
Kattar has a history of going late into fights. Of his 10 UFC bouts, six have gone the distance with all three of his losses coming via decision. Each of his last three matchups has gone through the final bell.
Emmett’s also seen six of his 10 UFC fights go the distance, but three of his last five wins have been by knockout.
Emmett might possess a bit more power than his opponent, but he may have trouble getting close enough to strike. Kattar boasts a five-inch height advantage and is two inches better in reach. That could help him fend off Emmett’s attacks.
As far as method of victory and length of fight go, the sportsbooks seem to think this will go the distance. The odds for a full five-round bout sit at -121 compared to -110 of an early decision.
Kattar, specifically, has odds of +135 that he’ll win by decision, compared to +190 of landing a knockout and +1500 of a submission.
Emmett, meanwhile, actually has better odds of a knockout at +450, compared to +500 of a win by decision and +2000 of a submission. The odds of a tie come in at +6000.
UFC Fight Night Prediction
We, like the sportsbooks, think this will go until the final bell sounds. We also like the favorite, Kattar, to land the win over his opponent.
Kattar owns a sizeable height advantage, and he’ll use that to keep Emmett at bay. Emmett, who’s going to look to use his punching power to knock Kattar to the mat, won’t be able to get close enough to strike.
Fun fact, Kattar has never even been knocked down in 28 professional fights, let alone knocked out. That doesn’t bode will for Emmett. Kattar is used to going deep into fights, and he’ll use his experience, stamina, and technical skill to outduel a formidable foe and land an impressive victory.
The Pick: Calvin Kattar (-230)
Best Bet: Calvin Kattar by decision (+135)
