MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Friday, April 26
April 25, 2024Credit Cards Could be Banned for Pennsylvania Sports Betting
April 26, 2024For football fans other things are taking a priority over the United Football League this week. The NFL Draft starts on Thursday and runs through the first set of games on Saturday, so there is a distraction. The Birmingham Stallions have not been distracted from their goal improving to 4-0 following their 20-18 win over the DC Defenders last week. On some levels it was a setback since they failed to cover the USFL betting line for the first time. At the halfway point of the season the Stallions are clearly the class of the UFL and enter their Week 5 tilt with the Houston Roughnecks as the biggest UFL point spread favorite for the third straight week. Birmingham opened as a 7.5-point favorite at Caesars sportsbook.
While Birmingham has yet to lose extending its winning streak to 11 games dating back to last USFL season, the 2023 XFL champion Arlington Renegades are the only winless team. One club was going to earn its first victory with Arlington and Houston squaring off last week. The Roughnecks used a strong defensive effort in their 17-9 victory. It doesn’t appear as though the Renegades are far off, though, with their last three setbacks by a combined 12 points. However, they don’t have a lot of time to work things out and desperately need a win against the 3-1 San Antonio Brahmas on Saturday. San Antonio is one of three road favorites on the UFL line laying 1.5-points. The only home favorite on the opening line is Memphis, which closes out the UFL betting week giving 2-points to Michigan in their Sunday afternoon matchup.

Week 5 UFL Parlay Picks
It’s back to the drawing board as my UFL picks and parlay failed to connect in Week 4. I was confident the Defenders could stay within the 9.5-point UFL point spread in their matchup with Birmingham and they nearly won the game only to be upended by a late field goal. That was the only winner on my three-team ticket with both Michigan and Arlington failing to cover the UFL betting line. After an offensive eruption in Week 3 when every game played OVER the total, only one team scored more than 20 points last week with St. Louis beating Memphis 32-17 in the only OVER winner.
Arlington +1.5
Birmingham -7.5
St. Louis / DC OVER 47

I backed the Renegades last week and it cost me in their loss to Houston. At some point they will put things together and playing with a sense of urgency might be what they need. They were competitive in their last three with each a one-possession game. However, when the offense produced the defense couldn’t stop teams. And last week the D did its job but Luis Perez and the offense struggled. Perez leads the UFL in passing yards but was just 15 28 for 144 yards last week. I envision a different outcome at home against San Antonio.
I just don’t see how Houston will be able to score enough points against a stingy Stallions unit. The Roughnecks haven’t scored more than 20 points in a game this season while Birmingham boasts the best stop unit allowing only 14.8 points and 232.3 yards per game. I’m not a fan of Skip Holtz rotating QBs, but Adrian Martinez and Matt Corral have both been strong. Corral got the nod last week throwing for 240 yards and a TD without a pick. Either way the Stallions are good making them a UFL best bet.
Four times a team has scored more than 30 points and the St. Louis Battlehawks have done it twice. They used a balanced attack in their 32-17 win over Memphis last week getting 100 yards on the ground from Jacob Saylors and another efficient performance from A.J. McCarron. The QB had a UFL season-high 35 completions in 45 attempts for 222 yards and three scores. St. Louis leads the UFL averaging 26.5 points and will face last year’s XFL offensive player of the year Jordan Ta’amu in a game that has points in it making the OVER a strong UFL betting pick.
