Strong Numbers for Iowa Sports Betting in April
May 16, 2024MLB Same Game Parlay Picks, Odds & Predictions – Monday, May 20
May 17, 2024If the Week 7 matchup between the Birmingham Stallions and St. Louis Battlehawks is indeed a preview of next month’s United Football League championship game fans will be treated to a good one. Birmingham left no doubt as to which team is the best in the league with a 30-26 victory improving to 8-0 on the year. As expected it was a close game with St. Louis staying within the 4.5-point UFL betting line. The two-time USFL champion Stallions won their 14th straight game dating back to last season and they are a double-digit UFL spread pick for the second time in three games for their Saturday night Week 8 tilt with the Houston Roughnecks.
Birmingham secured a playoff berth a few weeks ago and the USFL Division final is now set with three regular season games remaining. The Stallions and Michigan Panthers will meet for a trip to the title game and will also play each other in the final regular season game. Michigan won its third straight beating DC, 22-9, last week. That loss by the Defenders gave St. Louis and San Antonio some breathing room in the XFL Division with those clubs both at 5-2, two games ahead of DC. The Battlehawks can improve their standing while dealing a blow to DC when the clubs meet on Sunday with St. Louis a XX-point favorite on the opening UFL betting line at Caesars sportsbook.

Week 8 UFL Parlay Picks
I finally hit a wager that included the Arlington Renegades backing them as a 4-point UFL betting favorite in their Week 7 tilt with Memphis. They earned their first win of the campaign, 47-23, in a dominant showing. Arlington won’t go without a victory and they aren’t the worst team in the UFL any longer, leaving the Showboats to claim that distinction. Unfortunately it was the only win on my three-team UFL parlay. They say football is a game of inches and that also applies when making wagers. I backed San Antonio at -3.5 in its Week 7 game with Houston. Offense wasn’t a big deal in that matchup and the Brahmas needed a late field for the 15-12 win. I also thought defense would prevail in the Birmingham-St. Louis game, which it didn’t. The Battlehawks have cashed the OVER on the UFL odds in four of their last five games, however, they could be without QB A.J. McCarron, for the Week 8 tilt with DC due to an ankle injury.
Michigan Panthers ATS
DC / St. Louis UNDER
Arlington Renegades ATS

Entering Week 8 of the UFL season we’re faced with conflicting scenarios for some of the teams. Michigan can still win the USFL Division, but that would require Birmingham losing its remaining games. Those clubs have already secured a spot in the division playoff and it doesn’t look as though the Stallions are going to lose one game let alone three. There might be some let up on their part but Birmingham is a great team and crushed the Roughnecks, 32-9, in their first meeting. The Stallions are a big UFL pick against the spread and I like their chances, especially if Adrian Martinez keeps balling like he is. Martinez leads the UFL in rushing and his 10 TD passes are the second-most. I like Birmingham to cover the UFL point spread.
St. Louis scored 26 points but got a lot of help from several Birmingham miscues to do so. Otherwise the offense was pretty much shut down and what’s worse is that McCarron could miss the game with an injured ankle. He played the entire contest last week and wasn’t at his best going 19 of 32 for 161 yards and a pick. If McCarron plays he will be hampered by the ailment leading me to bet the UNDER in a matchup with DC.
Lastly, Arlington is using the remaining part of the season to prove they aren’t as bad as their 0-6 start. They got their first win behind the UFL’s leading passer Luis Perez, who completed 27 of 32 for 296 yards with three TDs and zero interceptions. De’Veon Smith also had a big game rushing for 101 yards and a pair of scores to cover the UFL point spread in a 47-23 decision over Memphis. The Renegades lost by 10 in the earlier meeting with the Brahmas, but the outcome is different for them this week at home making Arlington a UFL best bet.
