LIV Golf Miami Odds and Picks
April 3, 2024Friday, April 5 NBA Parlay Picks
April 4, 2024The Masters is up next week so there are some top players using this week’s Valero Texas Open as a prep event, including World No. 2 Rory McIlroy who is listed as the betting favorite at Caesars. It was another favorite losing last week and this time it was Scottie Scheffler, so taking McIlroy definitely comes with some risk. He is not the only top player in the field, however, as nine players ranked in the latest World Golf Rankings Top 20 are in the field. I am coming off a 3-2 week with the matchups at the Texas Children’s Houston Open and that makes it 7-3 the past two weeks with the matchups. Let’s look at Valspar Texas Open matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Corey Conners
Tournament Notes: This event at TPC San Antonio is a par 72 that measures 7,438 yards. It is not an easy course, as last year’s field averaged just over par at 72.092. Accuracy is very important this week with the rough at least 2.5 inches tall with a layer of four inch rough behind the first layer.

Golf Matchup Picks
Byeong Hun An -140 vs. Russell Henley
Henley has not even played this event in five years. I know he has surfaced with a couple of top four finishes this season, but he is coming off a missed cut at THE PLAYERS. An has been rolling for much of the season and he has two top 10’s in this event, including a tie for 6th last year. I’ll take An in this matchup.
Erik van Rooyen +130 vs. Christiaan Bezuidenhout
The price on this matchup is ridiculous. I get it that Bezuidenhout has been playing pretty well, but so has van Rooyen. In fact, van Rooyen has been in contention more often than Bezuidenhout. It was van Rooyen who finished in a tie for 14th in this event in 2021. I’ll take him at plus money in this matchup.
Aaron Rai -110 vs. Beau Hossler
One of my go-to matchups is to go against Hossler, especially on tough courses. This time around we get to take Rai who has a scoring average of 70.63 in his previous two tried on this course. Rai is coming off a nice finish last week when he tied for 7th. I’ll take Rai in this matchup.
Billy Horschel -130 vs. Beau Hossler
Sign me up for another matchup going against Hossler. I don’t do this very often because it doubles the risk going against a single player, but there is no question Horschel is the better player here. He has four top 20 finishes on the season and he likes to play tough courses. He has three finishes in the top four on this course. I’ll lay the small price and take Horschel.
Tom Kim -110 vs. Lucas Glover
I pointed out that I liked Kim in the odds preview, so I see no reason not to take him here. I think Kim is going to start proving some of that early hype was warranted. He likes tough courses and I expect him to contend this week. I’ll take him in this matchup against Glover.Check out the latest Valero Texas Open odds at Caesars.
