March 20, 2024Friday, March 22 NBA Parlay Picks
March 20, 2024The field for this week’s Valspar Championship in Florida is nothing like last week’s PLAYERS, but there are still a number of top players teeing it up this week, led by Xander Schauffele. A total of five players ranked in the Top 20 in the latest World Rankings are in the field, as joining Schauffele are Brian Harman, Keegan Bradley, Jordan Spieth and Sam Burns. Schauffele is the favorite in golf betting odds at Caesars. The nice run of winners picking the matchups ended last week, so we’ll look to get back on track this week. Let’s look at Valspar Championship matchup picks.

Defending Champion: Taylor Moore
Tournament Notes: The Copperhead Course is a par 71 that can stretch to 7,340 yards. It is a tough course where the pros averaged just 71.935 last year. The closing holes of 16,17 and 18, known as the “Snake Pit” averaged +0.593 strokes to par last year. The course is located just north of Tampa and is a tree-lined course. Position off the tee is of utmost importance this week. Staying out of the rough will be important, as the rough is over three inches long. This is really not a typical Florida golf course, as it is more like a Carolina course with multiple dog-legs and many water hazards. The course is considered fast, tight and relatively long. It is really a second shot golf course.

Golf Matchup Picks
Justin Thomas +130 vs. Xander Schauffele
Thomas has played well at Copperhead with a tie for 3rd in 2022. In his last 12 rounds on the course his average score is 68.83. Schauffele will have to find a way to put last week behind him. He has played Copperhead just once and finished in a tie for 12th in 2022. Maybe Schauffele will not have a letdown, but I still think the value is on Thomas, so I will take him at plus money in this matchup.
Cameron Young -130 vs. Min Woo Lee
Young just needs to start putting better and he will be just fine. He is really good tee to green and I think the smaller greens will help him at Copperhead. When it comes to Lee, he may indeed be a future star but I don’t think that time has arrived yet. I’ll take Young in this matchup.
Maverick McNealy -125 vs. Taylor Montgomery
McNealy is playing well with three top 15 finishes in his last four starts. He tied for 9th last week. It looks like McNealy is finally healthy and he is starting to look like a player who can contend on a regular basis. I’ll take him in this matchup against Montgomery.
Aaron Rai -135 vs. Thorbjorn Olesen
This golf betting matchup is simply a play against Olesen. I am not sure he really belongs on the PGA Tour and he may discover that fact as the season goes along. Rai has had some good moments and I’ll go against Olesen here and take Rai in this matchup.
Doug Ghim -150 vs. Patrick Rodgers
Ghim is playing well with five straight top 20 finishes. He is second in adjusted scoring and he is tied for first in par-5 scoring. Ghim is going under the radar but that may start to change. I’ll lay the price and take Ghim in this PGA betting matchup.
