Blackjack Mistakes to Avoid

November 23, 2023Mother Nature and a Chicago choke of epic proportions prevented my NFL player prop best bets from taking it to the guys and gals over at Caesars Sportsbook! I successfully targeted
Jordan Love to have a big day against the Chargers defunct pass defense with the Packers QB1 sweeping the board for us and cashing a nice +550 ticket in the process by tallying the first 300+ passing yard game of his career. Unfortunately, that’s where the fun ended. David Montgomery ultimately went on to take it to his former team in the Lions insane comeback win over my beloved Bears, while driving rain and a sloppy re-sodded playing field saw the Chiefs offense struggle mightily which in turn saw Rashee Rice come up short of all three suggested investments.
Here’s to taking it to the books in Week 12 – HAPPY TURKEY DAY & SLAM YOUR MAN!!

Gardner Minshew Over 300+ Passing Yards +360 | Longest Pass Completion Over 36.5 -111 | 3+ Touchdown Passes +370
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers slumber into Indy looking to get back in the win column off a physical match by the bay where they dropped a 27-14 decision to the 49ers. As stout Todd Bowles’ defense has been against the run (No. 6), it’s been nothing short of a sieve against the pass in allowing 270+ yards per game (No. 31) and 14.7 yards per reception to opposing wide receivers (No. 30). It owns a bottom third pressure rate (No. 27) and both starting cornerbacks – Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis III – are listed as questionable to even partake in this matchup.
While the Colts passing attack isn’t the dominant leg of the offense’s arsenal, Gardner Minshew will be in line to go off for a big number through the air which means we want pieces of the straw that stirs the drink once it does. Indianapolis enters this tilt refreshed and reenergized off the bye looking to remain in the mix of the AFC South title race. I fully expect Josh Downs to be in the huddle and readily available to take advantage of Tampa’s secondary. A big game is also expected from Michael Pittman Jr., and it wouldn’t shock me in the least if Jonathan Taylor played a role in the passing game as well. This all adds up to “Minshew Mania” coming back from the dead after going missing in the three played games before the break.
Jerome Ford Over 75+ Rushing Yards +340 | Longest Rush 30+ Yards +625
While the Cleveland backfield is without a doubt a complete time share between Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt, the former is the more explosive of the two backs with the younger legs that I’ll target in hopes of him going off against a laughable Denver run defense. I was all-in on Ty Chandler ripping Denver a new one before it was announced that alexander Mattison would actually play even after suffering a concussion the prior week. He still rumbled for 73 yards on his 10 carries with a long of 31. If he can take a just above average Ravens defense for 107 yards and a long of 28, the range of outcomes that find No. 34 going off for a career day are certainly present with Denver serving up a league worst 138 yards per game and 5.8 yards per carry to opposing running backs.
With the Browns lacking at the quarterback position, I fully expect Stefanski to run his running backs into the ground to get out of the Mile High City with the dub in tow. Ford will be in line to set a career-best single game yardage total! I’d hit the alt 100+ for an even bigger return, but Caesars knows better than to offer it up 😉
Stefon Diggs 125+ Receiving Yards +525 | 10+ Total Receptions +575 | 2+ Touchdowns +900
The wheel’s been squeaking in Buffalo the last few weeks with the offense making wholesale changes in hopes of shaking things up. Even with Joe Brady taking over the offensive playbook last week, Stefon Diggs ceased to be a contributing factor in the Bills 32-6 beat down of the division rival Jets. While Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed played a role, there’s no reason his team-high eight targets should’ve only resulted in four catches for a measly 27 yards. All the player prop goodness went to Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, and even Ty freaking Johnson. Though not as ornery as he was following the loss to Denver the previous week due to the team winning, you could tell he’s not happy with his role the last two weeks that’s seen him combine for 61 yards and no tuddies on seven overall receptions.
Enter the Philadelphia Eagles and their No. 28 ranked pass D that’s allowed a league-high in fantasy points (457.5), receptions (166), and touchdowns (15) to opposing wide receivers regardless of being lined up out wide or in the slot. That squeaky wheel I mentioned earlier? Yeah, I expect it to get a heaping load of oil in this matchup against an Eagles defense in one of the biggest hangover spots of the season coming off that revenge win over the Chiefs. Look for Diggs to HAM-out and put up one of the best WR stat lines of the 2023-24 NFL betting season!
