Week 4 NFL Player Prop Best Bets
September 29, 2023Sunday Night Football Same Game Parlay: Chiefs vs. Jets
September 29, 2023One week after hitting a three-team NFL parlay at BetRivers sportsbook the betting Gods got their revenge. I had the big ohfer on my Week 3 picks and will look to regroup with some intriguing matchups on the NFL betting line dotting the Week 4 NFL schedule. When betting on any sport you have to take the good with the bad and I experienced both ends of the spectrum in back to back weeks. Oh well, that’s the gambling life. However, one parlay win every few weeks makes up for all the losses with such a nice payout on those bets.
I think it’s safe to say the Chicago Bears are a hot mess after another face plant last week. I held out hope that they could turn things around and getting two touchdowns against the Chiefs looked like a solid NFL wager. The Bears lost by 31. There were some big favorites that lost outright in Week 3 with the Ravens included. Unfortunately I backed Baltimore at -9 in their duel with Indianapolis. The Colts were one of three teams getting at least nine points on the NFL betting line that won outright. The results always seem to surprise which makes winning a parlay a difficult task. However, we will continue to bet on NFL games.
NFL Week 4 Parlay Best Bets
Buccaneers +3.5
Chargers -5.5
Broncos / Bears OVER 46.5

We saw the New Orleans Saints sputter offensively when Derek Carr exited last week’s game with an injury. And they weren’t exactly putting up huge numbers before Carr got hurt. The Saints are 20th in yards per game and 25th in scoring average. What could give them a boost is the return of Alvin Kamara after serving his three-game suspension. However, I don’t think his presence is going to kickstart the team enough to cover the 3.5-point spread.
Tampa Bay was a surprise winning its first two games of the season. We saw the difference between them and the best in the NFC in Monday’s night’s 25-11 loss to Philadelphia, though. Still, the Saints aren’t the Eagles and the Bucs limited the points against despite allowing more than 200 yards on the ground. The Bucs won both meetings last season with Tom Brady behind center. Though he had a tough time against the Eagles, Baker Mayfield has been solid completing 66.7 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and only one pick. He should use his scrambling ability more to disrupt the Saints giving his club a chance to stay within the spread.
Carr’s former team is having issues at QB as well. The Las Vegas Raiders jettisoned Carr in favor of Jimmy Garoppolo and that hasn’t worked out. Vegas is averaging 287.7 yards and is 29th in scoring with 15.0 points per game. And they could be without Jimmy G for their AFC West showdown with the Chargers. I don’t have a lot of faith in the Bolts, but I have less in Josh McDaniels and the Raiders which is why LA’s my NFL betting pick minus the points.
The Bolts lost receiver Mike Williams with a knee injury but they are expected to have Austin Ekeler back in the lineup. And no matter who the Raiders trot out the Bolts have the advantage at QB with Justin Herbert, who had a day against the Vikings going 40 of 47 for 405 yards. The Chargers’ defense has been horrible so far giving the Raiders a chance, but the Bolts could have a big day on offense.
And speaking of horrible defense, the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears are right there with the Chargers at the bottom of the NFL rankings as they prep for their Sunday matchup. The Broncos were gouged last week allowing over 700 yards of offense in their 70-20 loss to Miami. The Bears, meanwhile, allowed the Chiefs to score 41 points in three quarters in their blowout loss.
Simply by looking at those numbers the OVER appears to be an NFL best bet. One must realize that these teams don’t have the offensive firepower of Miami and KC, which is why the total for this matchup is positioned at 46.5. Though both clubs have struggled offensively there is talent at the QB spot with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields looking to pad their stats against stop groups that haven’t done a good job so far of stopping teams.
