November 1, 2023The PGA Tour FedExCup Fall schedule rolls into Mexico this week for the World Wide Technology Championship where Ludvig Aberg is the favorite. Aberg is not the highest ranked player in the field, but he is listed ahead of Cameron Young and Sahith Theegala in PGA odds. Aberg is the only player listed at single-digit odds, as he is +800 at BetRivers. It will be interesting to see how Young plays this week, as he is returning after a 10-week break. He last played at the BMW Championship where he tied for 15th. I have gone 3-3 with the matchup picks in each of the last two PGA tournaments. Let’s look at World Wide Technology Championship picks.
Defending Champion: Russell Henley
Tournament Notes: This will be the second edition of the World Wide Technology Championship and it will be held at El Cardonal Golf Course at Diamante in Mexico. It was the first course that Tiger Woods ever designed. The course opened in 2014 and is now a par 72 that measures 7,452 yards.

Golf Picks
Jaeger, Stephan -125 vs. Detry, Thomas
Jaeger should be a good fit for El Cardonal, as he ranks in the Top 40 in greens hit and he ranks highly in Shots Gained: Tee-to-Green, scrambling, adjusted scoring and par-5 scoring. He has eight top 25 finishes in his last 15 starts. I’ll lay the small price and take Jaeger in this matchup.
Lucas Glover +180 vs. Young, Cameron
This is my underdog price play of the week. I know that Young is ranked higher than Glover but Young hasn’t played in nearly three months. I don’t know that he can simply flip the switch and contend. Glover was red-hot in early August and there is no reason he can’t contend for the win this week. I’ll take Glover at the big plus price in this matchup.
Svensson, Adam -150 vs. Pendrith, Taylor
Svensson just continues to play well, as he has five top 25 finishes in his last nine starts. He does virtually everything well so he doesn’t make a ton of mistakes. I’ll lay the price and take him in this matchup against Pendrith.
List, Luke -114 vs. Kirk, Chris
You have to think that List would excel on this course, as it favors power and hitting good shots tee to green. He has played really well of late and he could continue his surge in Mexico this week. I’ll take him against Kirk in this matchup.
Mitchell, Keith -115 vs. Hubbard, Mark
Mitchell is a player who relies on big drives to put himself in position so he should do well on this course. He has showed up on leaderboards this year when the course played to a difficult length. I think he has the advantage in this matchup, so I will lay the small price and take him in this matchup against Hubbard.
Bhatia, Ashkay -115 vs. Thompson, Davis
Another player who should do well at El Cardonal is Bhatia who excels in driving. He ranks in the Top 26 in total driving, greens in regulation and proximity. I think he can be in contention this week. I’ll take him in this matchup against Thompson.
