March 1, 2023Boxing Picks – Brandon Figueroa vs. Mark Magsayo
March 2, 2023Two weeks in and the XFL season has provided plenty of excitement on the field and at the betting window. And with more information about the teams and players we should be able to make some better informed wagers on our XFL parlay cards and picks rather than just blindly picking a side. Though we had some data to work with after the opening week of play it will still take time to decipher things in a more knowledgeable way. Heck I thought the Seattle Sea Dragons would be good with their talent and experienced coaching staff, but they fell to 0-2 with a last second loss to the St. Louis Battlehawks last week.
With more stats and figures I hope to finally breakthrough on my parlay picks after another frustrating week. We had a winner on the UNDER in the Arlington/Houston contest but were dealt losses when the Sea Dragons and Vegas Vipers failed to come through. Three teams are undefeated heading into Week 3 with that number guaranteed to fall by one when the DC Defenders host St. Louis in the first of three games on Sunday. For the second straight week the Battlehawks scored late to edge out a victory, but they head to DC catching 2-poins on the XFL betting line at BetRivers sportsbook.
Week 3 XFL Parlay Picks
We saw the road team win three of four games in Week 2 with Orlando getting the worst of it. They lost by 18 points to San Antonio falling to 0-2 ATS while claiming the title as worst team in the XFL. That can change abruptly just like futures odds. The DC Defenders moved into tie atop the championship odds board after opening the season near the bottom. So there is hope for Orlando, but two losses by a combined 39 points has them as the biggest dog of the season catching 9.5-points on the early XFL football lines for their Week 3 tilt against the Arlington Renegades. Now let’s see if we can make some money on our Week 3 XFL picks and parlays.
Seattle Sea Dragons at Vegas Vipers
Though they have yet to win a game I still believe Seattle has the players and coaching staff to be one of the top teams in the league. They are running out of time, though, with the season only 10 games long. That makes this contest important since both clubs are winless. The Sea Dragons suffered another tough setback last week giving up a last second field goal in a 20-18 loss to St. Louis. Most everything went well except for Seattle’s philanthropic ways with the football. They turned it over three times in Week 1 with a pair of pick-sixes leading to a 22-18 loss in a game they controlled most of the way. And there was a sense of déjà vu last week with three more giveaways and a game winning drive in the final minutes leading to a 20-18 loss. Seattle has been good on offense with Ben DiNucci throwing for a league-high 482 yards. As long as he and the rest of the offense hold onto the football they should cover the 3-point line.
XFL Parlay Pick: Seattle -3
Orlando Guardians at Arlington Renegades
Scoring the fewest points and surrendering the most points is always a recipe for disaster, and the Guardians are a train wreck through two weeks. I’ll call them the worst team in the XFL but there’s still time to turn things around, and they better do it quickly if they are going to do it at all. Arlington hasn’t been tearing up the league but if the spread was in the 3-4 point range I definitely would not bet Orlando. Instead with 9.5 points in my pocket and Orlando desperately needing to play better I think the points are a gift. The Renegades needed a comeback to beat Vegas in Week 1 and they didn’t do much against Houston giving me the confidence to back the visitors and the points in this contest.
XFL Parlay Pick: Orlando +9.5
San Antonio Brahmas at Houston Roughnecks
Behind Jack Coan and his three touchdown passes, the Brahmas looked good in last week’s win. But their opponent was Orlando and the 30-12 victory could be a tad misleading. Going against the Roughnecks, who have easily been the best team through two weeks, is a different story. Houston held Arlington to 125 total yards and the Roughnecks rank first in several defensive categories, including sacks and interceptions, while Brandon Silvers has been efficient leading the XFL’s highest scoring offense. Silvers is tied for the league lead with four TD passes and his 445 yards are the second-most. Max Borghi adds to a balanced attack with 69 yards and two scores on the ground. San Antonio may not score a lot of points but they should do enough to help the teams cash the OVER on a low total of 37.
XFL Parlay Pick: OVER 37
