A Fine Print Proposal That Could Change Indian Gaming
March 8, 2023The PLAYERS Championship Matchup Picks
March 8, 2023Three games into the XFL season and we’re starting to see patterns and trends emerge, which will only give us more insight to make better informed wagers on our XFL parlay cards and picks. I said from the beginning that the Seattle Sea Dragons should score points and win some games with their talent. They did both last week with Ben DiNucci throwing for 377 yards and four scores to cash the OVER in a 30-26 win over Vegas.
I had a nice Week 3 on my parlay picks hitting two of three wagers. The matchup between the San Antonio Brahmas and Houston Roughnecks prevented me from cashing a winning ticket, though. I considered backing the Roughnecks since they proved to be the best team in the league through the first two weeks. And they covered the 4.5-point line in their 22-13 win improving to 3-0. However, I backed the OVER and the teams came up just short. Houston is the biggest favorite on the Week 4 betting board spotting winless Orlando 8.5-points. Also unbeaten, the DC Defenders are a 6.5-point favorite over the 0-3 Vegas Vipers on the XFL betting line at BetRivers sportsbook.
Week 4 XFL Parlay Picks
Houston has emerged as the best team in the XFL after three weeks sporting the highest scoring offense while allowing the fewest points. They’ve proven to be a good bet as well going 3-0 ATS. They are the biggest favorite in Week 4 laying 8.5 points to Orlando, which looks like a good bet since the Guardians have yet to win. They did cover the 9.5-point spread in a tight 10-9 setback to Arlington, though, for their first payout of the season. The Defenders look to stay unbeaten laying 6.5-points on the opening XFL football line for their home tilt with Vegas. Let’s see if we can make some money on our Week 4 XFL picks and parlays.
Houston Roughnecks at Orlando Guardians
Three weeks in and Houston is the top team going 3-0 SU and ATS outscoring opponents by an average of 13 points with no game closer than nine points. One of those wins came in Week 1 with a 33-12 trouncing of Orlando. Though they scored all their points in the first half last week, it took a late goal-line stand for Houston to hold off San Antonio 22-13. Brandon Silvers was 24 of 35 for 278 yards and three touchdowns. He’s tied for the XFL lead with seven scoring passes and second with 723 yards directing a balanced and efficient offense. Orlando allowed just 178 yards last week and had a fourth quarter lead before pissing it away. They’ll need another strong defensive effort to offset an offense that averages just 11 points. That’s enough for me to back the visitors minus the hefty spread.
XFL Parlay Pick: Houston -8.5
San Antonio Brahmas at Seattle Sea Dragons
We got a glimpse of what Seattle’s offense can do finally putting things together in a 30-26 win over Vegas. Ben DiNucci has the best game for a QB this season completing 29 of 37 for 377 yards and four scores. Morgan Ellison rushed for 103 yards and the Sea Dragons averaged 8.2 yards per play. They are still plagued by turnover, though, coughing it up twice last week and eight times this season, but the playmaking ability of Josh Gordon was on display. The good news for San Antonio is that the Dragons’ defense isn’t as strong as Houston’s. The Brahmas struggled to move the football last week getting outgained 374-162 with Jack Coan hitting just 8 of 20 throws. I expect the offense to be better leading to the teams cashing the OVER on the XFL betting line.
XFL Parlay Pick: OVER 41
Vegas Vipers at DC Defenders
The Defenders might be the most exciting team to watch after their thrilling 34-28 win over St. Louis last week. The QB tandem of Jordan Ta’amu and D’Eriq King combined for 210 passing yards and 31 rushing yards while the defense got a pick six from Michael Joseph. The teams met in Vegas just a few weeks ago in a more subdued game with DC getting an 18-6 victory covering the spread and cashing the UNDER. DC needed 15 fourth quarter points to seal the win in a game that was closer than the final. And Vegas has been in every game with two other losses by a total of eight points.
XFL Parlay Pick: Vegas +6.5
