LIV Golf Tucson Picks
March 15, 2023NBA Parlay Picks for Friday, March 17, 2023
March 15, 2023Well I took one on the chin last week losing two of my three football parlay picks in XFL games. I should be getting better with my selections instead of worse now that there is more information to process as we reach the midway point of the season. That’s right Week 5 of the season is the halfway mark. I was all over the Houston Roughnecks in their matchup with winless Orlando and Wade Phillips’ squad didn’t disappoint with perhaps the most complete game by any team this season in a 44-16 triumph covering the 8.5-point line. Houston improved to 4-0 SU and ATS. The DC Defenders kept pace also improving to 4-0 SU and ATS by beating Vegas 32-18. The XFL’s two unbeatens are scheduled to meet in Week 6.
One thing we know for sure this week is that only one team will remain without a win when play is concluded. The Vegas Vipers host the Guardians in a battle of 0-4 teams. Both squads played the role to perfection last week with Orlando losing by 28 and Vegas falling by 14 points. Vegas has come closer to winning which is why I guess the Vipers are a 7.5-point favorite on the opening XFL betting line at BetRivers sportsbook.
Week 5 XFL Parlay Picks
The biggest story heading into Week 5 is what happens in Week 6. Houston and DC both won and covered again in their Week 4 matchups putting them on a collision course to meet a week from Monday. But will they both be undefeated when that time arrives? The teams are favored to win in Week 5 but both have a tough road contest against the next tier of opponents. Houston is a 3-point road favorite against the Seattle Sea Dragons, who have won two straight. DC heads to St. Louis as a 2-point favorite against the 3-1 Battlehawks. The previous two weeks have been good for the home team going 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS. Now let’s see if we can make some money on our Week 5 XFL picks and parlays.
Houston Roughnecks at Seattle Sea Dragons
It’s clear that Houston and DC are the top teams in the XFL with the Roughnecks having a slight edge as the best overall due to their plus-67 scoring margin. The defense will be tested by XFL passing leader Ben DiNucci, who has 1,119 yards completing nearly 69 percent of his passes. But Seattle continues to give the ball away and that will likely be a contributing factor in this matchup. With Brandon Silvers tossing a league best 10 touchdown passes, the Roughnecks have scored at least 22 points in every game with the OVER at 3-1. Seattle was 3-0 against the OVER until last week’s 15-6 win over San Antonio played well below the closing total. Despite their low point total the Sea Dragons did amass 343 total yards and controlled the game. This will be different, though, against Houston’s aggressive defense. I like the Roughnecks to continue their dominance against the inconsistent Sea Dragons.
XFL Parlay Pick: Houston -3
Orlando Guardians at Vegas Vipers
One team will get its first victory of the season when Orlando and Vegas hook up. Outside of their 10-9 loss to Arlington in Week 3, the Guardians haven’t been close to winning a game dropping their three other contests by an average of over 22 points. On the positive side they did have their highest scoring output of the season in last week’s 44-16 setback. That was offset by a bigger negative, though, since they surrendered the most points in a game this season. Vegas has been within reach of victory a few times surrendering a late lead to Seattle in Week 3 and allowing Arlington to escape with a narrow win in Week 1. And the Vipers offense has been a little sharper with Luis Perez throwing for 283 yards and two scores last week. Vegas laying 7.5-points is a bit steep so I’ll instead back the OVER with hopes of Orlando scoring a few more points.
XFL Parlay Pick: OVER 41.5
DC Defenders at St. Louis Battlehawks
I think the biggest story last week was St. Louis attracting over 38k for their home opener with Arlington. Oh, and the Battlehawks won the game 24-11 behind A.J. McCarron and a stingy defense. McCarron continued his strong play completing 20 of 27 for 214 yards and two touchdowns and the defense intercepted three passes as St. Louis improved to 3-1. The teams played a shootout in Week 3 with DC escaping 34-28 and more of the same could be on the way. The difference is St. Louis will use a raucous crowd to its advantage.
XFL Parlay Pick: St. Louis +2
