NBA Picks for Thursday, April 6, 2023
April 5, 2023Thursday, April 6 MLB Best Bets
April 5, 2023There was some build up to my three-team XFL parlay winner. Week 6 was the best yet with two of three winners and though I didn’t cash the XFL parlay card there was hope that things were about to change. And they did in Week 7 with a three-team winner giving me a healthy payout to replenish the bankroll. With only three weeks remaining in the season I’ll look to continue the heater with another winning ticket at BetRivers sportsbook.
Week 7 started off with the Seattle Sea Dragons winning their fifth straight game and covering the 5-point XFL betting line in a 24-15 win over Arlington. I wanted to back the Orlando Guardians as a 10-point home dog in their matchup with DC, instead I took the OVER. It turns out both were winners with Orlando pulling off the biggest upset of the season, 37-36, easily going over the total of 43.5. My parlay was complete when St. Louis upset the Houston Roughnecks on Sunday handing me the first XFL picks and parlay winner.
Week 8 XFL Parlay Picks
The XFL had its version of March Madness with the winless Guardians stunning the previously unbeaten DC Defenders, 37-36, on Saturday. Quinten Dormady went off accounting for all six Orlando scores tossing three TD passes and rushing for three more touchdowns. The Guardians covered for a third straight payout and cashed the OVER in a fourth straight game and for the sixth time in seven outings while handing DC its first SU and ATS loss. After being at least a 7.5-point dog in each of their last five games, the Guardians opened as a pick ‘em in their Week 8 matchup with Arlington. Now let’s see if we can make some more money on our Week 8 XFL picks and parlays.
Vegas Vipers at St. Louis Battlehawks
St. Louis plays its final three games of the season at home starting with Saturday’s tilt against Vegas. Being in the same division as DC and Seattle, the Battlehawks have been overlooked but currently they are tied with Seattle just a game behind the Defenders. And against teams not from DC, the Battlehawks are a perfect 5-0 SU and ATS. Vegas got a big win last week over San Antonio, but their defense is still the worst allowing nearly 338 yards and 25.0 points per game. A.J. McCarron is having a strong season leading the XFL with 17 TD passes while completing 69 percent of his throws. They’re laying 7-points but I’ll back the Battlehawks against a generous Vipers defense.
XFL Parlay Pick: St. Louis -7
Houston Roughnecks at San Antonio Brahmas
I’m going to double dip on Houston simply because the Brahmas aren’t very good. They lack punch offensively scoring 15 points or less in six of their seven games. They erupted for 30 in a win over Orlando, which isn’t saying much since the Guardians concede that many on average. Houston’s defense, among the best during an opening four-game winning streak, has struggled during three straight losses. There is a common theme here and it’s that the Roughnecks aren’t as good against better competition. Their last three opponents are a combined 16-5. Houston won the earlier meeting with San Antonio, 22-13 covering the 4.5-point spread and playing below the total. Houston should get back in the win column against a team that can’t score making the Roughnecks my XFL pick against the spread. San Antonio does a good job limiting opponents boasting the league’s top ranked scoring defense with Houston not far behind giving me confidence to back the UNDER as well.
XFL Parlay Pick: Houston -4.5 / UNDER 40
DC Defenders at Seattle Sea Dragons
With DC’s loss last week the Sea Dragons are the hottest team in the XFL having won five straight while going 4-1 ATS. Seattle no longer has the best total offense in the league being overtaken by DC with both clubs averaging more than 340 yards. DC was gashed last week by one of the worst offenses in the XFL giving passing leader Ben DiNucci an opportunity for a big game. The Defenders give up an average of 324 yards and 22 points after allowing Orlando to have a field day with 400 total yards. Seattle’s defense has been strict and the Sea Dragons probably should’ve won the opener instead falling 22-18 in DC. They get their revenge on Sunday in battle for first place in the North Division.
XFL Parlay Pick: Seattle -1.5
