October 18, 2023How to Play Casino War
October 18, 2023Xander Schauffele leads the field for this week’s ZOZO Championship in Japan. Schauffele is the highest ranked golfer in the field at No. 6 in the latest World Golf Rankings. Schauffele is listed as the betting favorite at BetRivers, while Collin Morikawa is the second golf betting choice. A favorite actually won last week in golf betting, as Tom Kim took the title in Las Vegas. Joining Schauffele and Morikawa in this event are Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama and defending champion Keegan Bradley, among others. I went 3-3 with the matchup picks at las week’s Shriners Children’s Open. Let’s look at ZOZO Championship matchup picks.
Defending Champion: Keegan Bradley
Tournament Notes: Accordia Golf Narashino CC is a par 70 that measures 7,079 yards. It has five par 3’s and three par 5’s. The first two rounds of this event may be the most difficult, as the wind should be a factor on Thursday and Friday. Things should calm by the weekend and we should see some good scoring. This event is one of the last events in the FedExCup Fall schedule, as the last few spots in the Top 125 for next season will be set. There will be no cut this week so all of the players in the field will be playing four rounds.

Golf Picks
Sungjae Im -129 vs. Min Woo Lee
Im is coming off a playoff loss in the Genesis Championship in South Korea. He played well in this event in 2019, finishing in a tie for third. Lee is coming off a win at the SJM Macao Open and I will oftentimes go against last week’s winner. I’ll take Im in this matchup.
Svensson, Adam -150 vs. Taylor, Nick
Svensson is playing well right now with four top 20 finishes in four of his last five starts. He definitely has the right skills to do well at Narashino and he is the choice in this matchup against Taylor.
Hisatsune, Ryo -115 vs. Kanaya, Takumi
There is no doubt that Hisatsune is talented, as he already has a win on the DP World Tour at the age of 21. He is going to get his PGA Tour card because of his strong finish in the Race to Dubai. He played well in this event a year ago, finishing in a tie for 12th. I will go with Hisatune in this matchup.
Davis, Cameron -125 vs. Scott, Adam
Davis is all set for the 2024 PGA season, as he will be able to play in all of the big events, so he is simply looking to get a win. He has four finishes in the top seven in his last six events. I will take Davis in this matchup.
Noren, Alexander -101 vs. Hojgaard, Nicolai
Noren is playing really well, as he tied for 3rd last week at the Shriners. He ranked 2nd in GIR for the week in that event. He played well at Narashino with a T18 in 2022. I’ll take him in this matchup against Hojgaard.
Kitayama, Kurt -143 vs. Hardy, Nick
There is no question that Kitayama plays well in events outside of the United States and he should feel comfortable in Japan. I will lay the price and take Kitayama in this matchup.
