This will be the third meeting between the two fighters and much has changed since their last meeting. Alvarez has gone on to great heights, while Golovkin has kind of been stuck in the mud. Although Alvarez got a win and a draw against Golovkin in their two fights, many people who watched the fights believe Golovkin won them both.
The judging in their first fight was awful, as Golovkin should have been scored the winner. The rematch was closer and could have gone either way. Had the judges done their jobs correctly, it would be Golovkin unbeaten and in the conversation as the greatest middleweight of all time.
Golovkin is now 40 years old and not as quick and powerful as he used to be. What he does have is motivation, as he believes he won the first two fights against Alvarez. Golovkin needs to win this fight or his career will pretty much be over in terms of big paydays. “I can only hope this fight will go down as one of the best fights in history. The price on this fight is ridiculously high, as there is no way Alvarez should be a 5-1 favorite. Golovkin is definitely not without a chance and there is value in taking him to get this win.
