The Las Vegas Raiders visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football on ESPN. The Raiders come into this game at 1-3, while the Chiefs are 3-1. The Chiefs have dominated the Raiders at Arrowhead of late, winning 8 of the last 10 meetings. “It’s a hostile environment. It’s one of the loudest in the whole NFL. But it’s a division game, it’s gonna be tough, and it’s gonna be a physical game,” said Raiders quarterback Derek Carr to the media. The games have been high scoring, as the teams have combined for 59.8 points per game in their last 5 meetings. Despite the Chiefs dominating the Raiders of late, they are just 3-2 ATS in the last five games. The Raiders are just 1-4 ATS in the last five at Kansas City.
The Raiders definitely feel better about themselves after getting a win last week and the Chiefs may come into Monday night a bit overconfident after taking out the Bucs. This is a division game and those are usually close. The Chiefs have had the Raiders number of late, but this Las Vegas team is a bit different and the Chiefs are not as explosive as in the past.

Oddsmakers don’t like to move off a key number, but it would not be surprising to see this line go to 7.5 simply because of the public money. It could be that this is a game where the public is on the Chiefs and the wiseguys take the Raiders. The total has moved, as it opened at 52.5 and surprisingly has been bet down to 51. It is hard to see these two teams doing anything other than playing a high scoring game.
The Raiders are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. The Raiders are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Kansas City. Somewhat surprisingly, the Under is 11-3 in the last 14 meetings in Kansas City. The Chiefs have played well on Monday nights, going 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 Monday games. One other trend of note is that the Chiefs tend to play down to their level of competition. They are 2-8 ATS vs. a team with a losing record in their last 10 games.

One thing that I don’t like to do is follow the public and the public is all over the Chiefs in this game. There is no question that Kansas City is the better team and they have definitely owned the Raiders of late, but this is a good spot for Las Vegas. They are coming off their first win and they are playing a team they know really well. The Raiders are not a bad team and they are capable of playing much better than they have to this point in the season. I’ll take the Raiders plus the points and despite what the trends say, I still think this should be a high scoring game, so I will also go over the total.
