August 23, 2022Sports Betting Boosts Borgata
Internet gambling and sports betting have been credited with pushing Borgata Casino in Atlantic City to the top of all casinos in the area for July. This news coincided with Borgata achieving the best month for a casino in the region’s history.
The numbers released by New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement show the Borgata as the city’s top-performing casino, winning over $124 million from in-person casino gamblers, internet wagering, and sports betting. Online and sports betting money are split with partners, so the casino won’t keep all of it.
In-person gambling revenue was down at Borgata and four other Atlantic City casinos in July 2022 compared to July 2019, which is why internet gambling was credited.
Before Borgata’s record month in July, the best month for an Atlantic City casino was September 2021. According to New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement, Borgata also set this record when the casino and its partners won nearly $112 million.

Kansas Set for September 8 Kickoff!
Kansas State will begin accepting sports wagers starting on September 1, 2022. The official opening of the Kansas betting market is September 8, 2022, just one week before the opening day of the 2022 NFL regular season.
On September 1, six platforms will be already prepared for launch. Kansas players can choose from FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, Caesars, BetMGM, and Penn National Gaming (Barstool).
The state currently owns four casinos that will all be partnering with sportsbooks: Hollywood Crossing with Barstool and FoxBet, Kansas Star Casino with FanDuel and BetMGM, Kansas Crossing with PointsBet, and Caesars, and Boot Hill with Bally Bet and DraftKings.
The bill that legalized sports betting in Kansas was signed into law on May 12 by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly. If the state launches as planned (in early September), it will be one of the quickest turnarounds from legalization to launch.
