September 15, 2022The Bears and Packers face off in a divisional rivalry in Week 2 of the NFL season. The two had a pair of surprising results in the season openers, with Chicago pulling off a huge upset of the 49ers while Green Bay fell to the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bears won that game in a monsoon, and though it wasn’t pretty, they took down a team that’s expected to compete for a Super Bowl. Green Bay, meanwhile, had all kinds of issues on offense. Aaron Rodgers looked frustrated with his new receiving corps now that Davante Adams is off to Las Vegas. Drops and poor decisions buried the Packers, not to mention Justin Jefferson went off for 184 receiving yards and two scores.
Green Bay was down 20-0 before the third quarter ended, but they’ll hope to avoid going 0-2 in division play this weekend. Which of these NFC North rivals will land a win in Lambeau on Sunday night?

Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears NFL Picks
Green Bay enters this contest with the better team, offensively in particular, though they may not have shown it last weekend. In That 23-7 defeat, Aaron Rodgers threw for 195 yards and a pick. A costly drop on a surefire touchdown set the tone early in the game, and the Packers never really looked to be on the same page.
We’ll expect them to lean on the ground game a bit more than they did last weekend in an attempt to control the script. AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones combined for just 94 rushing yards against Minnesota after falling behind early. Green Bay should look to utilize that run game a bit better on Sunday night and take some pressure off of Rodgers and the receiving unit.
On defense, the task of facing the Bears should be much less difficult than going against that Vikings unit from a week ago. Chicago doesn’t have the playmakers that Minnesota does on the outside, and they should be able to force Justin Fields into some errors.
Speaking of the Chicago offense, it’s almost impossible to take anything from that season opener. The weather conditions were horrid, but the Bears did do a nice job of limiting mistakes. Fields threw for 121 yards and a pair of scores but the offense totaled just 204 yards. They were outgained by 130 yards but capitalized on a pair of San Francisco turnovers to seal the 19-10 win.
On defense, the Bears did struggle against the run game. The Niners totaled 176 yards on the ground behind the three-headed monster of Trey Lance, Deebo Samuel, and Elijah Mitchell. Chicago will need to seal up some of those issues when trying to stop Dillon and Jones.

Green Bay Packers: -10
Chicago Bears: +10
Over/Under: 42 point
The Packers enter as huge home favorite with the line currently sitting at -10. Green Bay has had its share of success against the Bears, as Aaron Rodgers is 22-5 all-time against Chicago. The Pack won both of last year’s meetings by double digits, including a 45-30 win in Lambeau.
The Packers have won six straight against Chicago, and 11 of the last 12. They’ve also taken the last six matchups in Green Bay (four by 15 pts or more). Green Bay has covered the spread in each of the last six meetings, including the last five as a favorite. They’re also 8-2 ATS in the last 10 matchups against Chicago.
The over has hit in three of the last four meetings, though the three matchups prior to that run all ended under the total.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers should get wideout Amari Rodgers back for this Week 2 matchup, though his quarterback wasn’t quite sure what that will mean for the offense.
“Yeah, he’s returning for us now. That’s all I got on it.” -Aaron Rodgers
Chicago Bears
The Bears will be without offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood. They appear relatively healthy other than that.
Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears NFL Free Pick
The Packers have owned this series, and we’ll expect that trend to continue. Green Bay has covered six straight against the Bears, which includes every game that Justin Fields has started against Aaron Rodgers.
Don’t love the -10 based on how Green Bay’s offense looked last weekend, but there should be improvement. We’ll take the Pack to add a late score and cash in on the line.
The Pick: GREEN BAY PACKERS -10
