NFL Betting – 2023 NFL Draft Prop Odds and Picks
April 13, 2023NFL Betting – 2023 NFL Draft Props
April 13, 2023Two of my Week 8 XFL parlay picks won in overtime, which is the good news. The bad news is that they didn’t cover the spread and my mini heater came to an end. I may have had a losing ticket but fans of the league were winners with four incredible games last week making it a disappointment that we have only two weeks remaining in the regular season. The DC Defenders secured a spot in the postseason with a dramatic win over Seattle snapping the Sea Dragons’ five- game winning streak. And Houston stopped a three-game losing streak beating San Antonio 17-15 in overtime to wrap up their spot in the postseason.
Arlington can secure a playoff berth with a Week 9 win over DC, but the Renegades are the biggest dog on the Week 9 XFL betting line catching 9.5-points at BetRivers sportsbook for the road contest. They stopped a two-game losing skid with an 18-16 win over Orlando leaving the Guardians at an XFL worst 1-7. Arlington continues to struggle on offense, though, with their scoring output against Orlando their highest since Week 1. They cashed the UNDER in six of their past seven games. With time running out on the regular season we’ll see if another XFL picks and parlay winner is out there.
Week 9 XFL Parlay Picks
It took eight weeks to finally see the overtime shootout rules in effect and we saw it in two games over the weekend. Each team gets three two-point conversion attempts from the 5-yard line with the winner decided by the most points. If tied after three attempts the teams go into sudden death. St. Louis converted twice outscoring Vegas 4-0 in the OT to win the game 21-17. They failed to cover the 7.5-point line, though. One Houston conversion was all it took to beat San Antonio 17-15. In the wildest game of the week Seattle pulled within a point scoring a late touchdown but failed to convert their 2-point try falling to DC 34-33. Seattle’s three losses are by a combined seven points and they are 4-4 as an XFL pick against the spread.
Seattle Sea Dragons ( +1 ) at St. Louis Battlehawks
Seattle needs a win to stay in playoff contention so expect them to go all out. The offense has been clicking with more than 20 points in four straight games while cashing the OVER in each of the last three. Ben DiNucci had another big game throwing for 301 yards against DC putting him over 2,000 for the season. The expected QB battle between former NFLers may not come to fruition with a shoulder injury suffered by A.J. McCarron in Week 7 proving to be a bigger deal than originally thought. The XFL leader with 17 TD passes was inactive last week with St. Louis turning to Nick Tiano. The offense struggled scoring one touchdown with another coming on a fake punt. Seattle has been close in all three losses with turnovers playing a big role in their 20-18 loss to St. Louis in Week 2. They’ve been better valuing the football lately and have a potent enough attack to pile up points if they don’t give the football away.
XFL Parlay Pick: Seattle +1
Orlando Guardians ( +2.5 ) at San Antonio Brahmas
I don’t anticipate much offense in this game especially from San Antonio, which averages a league worst 214.5 yards and is next to last with just 14.5 points per game. The Guardians have shown they can move the football destroying DC’s defense for 400 yards in their Week 7 upset. Quinten Dormady threw for 303 yards last week but turned the ball over five times with a pair of picks and three fumbles, one of which was returned for a touchdown, just about handing the game to Arlington. Though they have the worst record in the XFL, Orlando values the football making last week’s fiasco an outlier. And despite the miscues the Guardians had a chance with the ball late in the game before the final giveaway sealed it. Dormady has been effective transforming the offense since returning to the lineup and the Brahmas don’t have much of an attack leaving me with an XFL wager on the visitors as part of my parlay card.
XFL Parlay Pick: Orlando +2.5
Arlington Renegades ( +9.5 ) at DC Defenders
If Arlington has an offense this is a good week for the group to show up. They haven’t scored more than 18 points since the season opening 22-20 win over Vegas and a revolving door at quarterback isn’t helping. What will help is DC’s philanthropic defense. Despite having a 7-1 record the Defenders allow nearly 328 yards per game and have conceded an average of 32 points over their last three games. The offense is top notch led by Jordan Ta’amu, who threw four TD passes last week, and rushing leader Abram Smith, but Arlington’s No. 1 ranked stop unit should do enough to keep Arlington within the huge spread.
XFL Parlay Pick: Arlington +9.5
